my first deer this season. just found some rubs he made 2 days ago and decided to climb up over the thicket he was working. glad i did!!

p.s. he didnt have time to cry. very quick kill. no suffering at all.
ive been hunting a doe to get some meat but he came out first. i eat more deer meat than beef usually. i had the tenderloin sliced for biscuits, sausage and ground deer. gonna be some good eatin!! may even share some with yall.

I've never been hunting before, but I'm a damn good shot and I've always kinda wanted to go, and I decided that I'm gonna start trying things that have been on my wishlist... Hell next week my friend Joel is letting me fly his plane. :) I'm gonna be up tomorrow for thanksgiving, and then again at Christmas, but I can always take a quick day trip.. let me know next time you go! I'd love to tag along! (and I promise I'll try not to scare all the deer away)

My dad raced SCCA competitively and successfully for 30 years until retiring from his business then left racing and bought some property leaving us nothing in common but labor on a farm. Every few years might go watch a race but that was it...i ate and slept non-pushrod cars & racing then woke up to help work on the '69 Chevy or one of the tractors..or maybe spend the day bushhogging or throwing haybales around. It might be ackward at times to have your dad around with your friends and all but doing something you both can enjoy together is worth more than anyone can imagine. Much respect to you for becoming involved. :goodjob:

hey nitro ill swing ya some by as soon as i get it back next week. i killed it with my sons remington model 7. 260 caliber. i usually dont keep a beard with my job at our school but i decided to grow it out for a while.

most of the kids around here freak when they see my car, especially when a 37 yr old man comes climbing out of it! lol!

like i said though, im in the process of building a car with my son. 97 eclipse. everything done except paint and the custom sub enclosure. the sub enclosure is almost complete. hope to get it painted before dec. 5th. ill post pics soon.

lol. i was wondering when you were gonna show up. what took ya so long? definitely not a sport for everyone, but definitely a sport. almost as fun as chasing ghosts. believe it or not these whitetail deer can disappear about like a ghost. plus i hunt to eat the meat. i usually kill one deer a yr for the meat. i dont kill 12 deer which is the legal limit like alot of people do. but deer would take over if we didnt harvest some of them. just look at all the deer hitting our cars! so id rather take them out in the woods.

sport, hobby, passion, whatever you want to call it. but there is sport to hunting. sure i know the deer dont hunt you back but they are gifted with keen senses and can and do, elude hunters. i know its not a sport like racing or football, this i agree with you on, but there is a degree of competition between deer and hunter. ive been outsmarted by alot of them. but i know everyone doesnt like hunting and consider it non-sport so i respect your opinions on the subject.
