*****WTB: FITV= FAST IDLE THERMO VALVE

Im looking for a FITV for a 96 Acura integra LS. I think any B-series should fit as long as its OBD-2 but please correct me if im wrong.
My idle is driving me crazy.
Aslo I already tried taking it out and retightening the plastic screw cap that holds the spring down with no luck.....

KMS makes a FITV block off plate for it, and you can just bypass it with the coolant lines, have the coolant line go from the manifold straight to the IACV, i believe that is how it goes..but mine acted up, and i just fixed it by getting an aftermarket intake manifold, that has only one hole to let in air, for the IACV, but not the FITV..I have a FITV, but it doesn't work either.

where is this KMS place? is it in GA or online? with that block off plate will i get a check engine light?

i saw it on ebay..search for it..they are in covington, i believe..they deal with honda/acura mainly..more like a machine shop for honda/acura performance parts..the site is http://www.honda-performance.com/

check it out..you would have to route your coolant line to bypass this when using the plate.

nope, no check engine light..the fitv when cold, it opens to let extra air though to give a higher idle when cold, around 2K rpms, and when the coolant gets warmer the valve gradually closes so idle is normal 750 +/- 50 RPMS..when using the block off plate, even when the motor is cold, the idle will still be at normal rpms, around 750..and will just take longer for your motor to warm up when idleing..other than that everything else functions as normal

For those who dont want pay $$ to buy the plate...just get a thin piece of sheetmetal. cut the sheetmetal to the shape of the fast idle valve and drill some holes to line up with the valve itself. and put that piece in between the valve and the manifold when you bolt it on. NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU LIVE IN EXTREME COLD WEATHER!!!!

yea ive been thinking about doing this. were would i go to get the sheetmetal cut properly since i dont have any metal working tools and dont want to do a hack job....

You can just cut a piece of sheet metal from any hardware store. they should sell them in sections. Then take a marker and draw an outline of the valve on the sheetmetal. After that, take a pair of metal cutters (sissors on steriods) and cut it into shape. Take a file to smooth out the rough edges. If you aren't going to do it yourself, then it'll prolly be better to just get one of those block off plates and bridge the coolant lines. If I weren't so busy with my job and these cars during my off time, I'd just make one for you.

ok so i fixed it. i place a thin sheet of metal between the FITV and the throttle body and the car is working perfectly.... it takes alittle longer then usual to warm up but the idle is perfect...
