1000 cc is WAY too big for a beginners bike IMO....ive ridden dirt bikes for about 10 years now and rode my buddys gsx and it was way too much for me but a 600 cbr feels nice...and anything over a 600 is really overkill anyway
tl is in most cases worse than the gsx-r due to the additional torque of the V-Twin, plus it's heavier. however, if you're a cautious and responsible person and it's that good of a deal then don't pass it up. if it's too much you could always sell........

i personaly like the tl 1000 r. I started out on a 1200. As long as you are carefull and respect your bike it should be fine

A little TOO MUCH?? it IS TOO MUCH is what you mean. That's gonno be one untamed horse you're going to be dealing with.
huh?
Well a TL1000R is a V-twin sportbike. Good handling and great on the tracks. They Defenitely can perform. They are extremely heavy however and yes.. old. But it is still a good bike to ride in street or track.
What he meant by MSF is the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Program it will teach you how to ride and maintain a bike. I recommend the Honda Riding School or Jarley Davidson's Earl Small's The EDGE riding program.
