Little late on this! Ben was a member of 6speedonline.com and was a highly praised individual on there. I bet Ruiner (Brandon) knows who he is.

RIP!

thats really sucks....i wished california had the SAFER barrier on the inside retaining wall...you never know...but it would've helped dissipate the energy from the crash away from the occupants....

Yes, I know the driver. This is hitting the Porsche community very hard. Ben was a great man. He will be missed.

You are correct. :( We are heartbroken. I have spoken with Ben many times and it almost still hasn't sunk in.

He loved his new daughter, Parker. He loved his wife. The car was a hobby.

Here is a picture of his daughter in the driver's seat just a few days before the accident:

Wow.... For going 100+mph crashing, the car doesn't look bad at all.. I dont really see how they died, they didnt get burned, I dont see much side damage. Was it one of those Earnheartd whiplash fatalities? I mean, they were wearing harnesses, helmets... All I can assume is it was the whiplash. Anyways, sad story, sorry to hear about the fatherless daughter.

Closer to 150mph. Don't think about your helmet as much as your internal organs. Your body stops, but your organs keep trying to move forward among other things.

If you guys haven't been reading on 6speedonline... Apparently a crew worker at the track decided to make a track entrance right as Ben was doing 150mph. Ben swerved and tried to avoid the worker and went into the wall. There were no warnings, no crew workers doing flags. What a tragic, horrible event! I feel so bad for his wife and kid right now.

jesus.....that track worker should be held responsible. fuckin idiot.

HyPer50

Yup, supposedly a Ferrari tried to enter the track, right at the end of a long straight away. And I guess he didnt have enough time to safely pass him, and lost control. The more I read about it the sadder it is. The Crystal Cove tribute show pics are cool... I think there are more exotics at this one show than there are in all of GA. Wow.

It wasn't a crew worker. The track Marshall told him (the guy in the Ferrari) to go, the guy hesitated, he went too late, and the result is the tragic event. It was the timing.
