I've thought about it, talked about it, & discretely posted about it and it's officially been done....or just starting to say the least. I'm creating a website focused primarily on "old school" imports w/ feature articles, tech sections, photoshoots, etc. with car shows & track events to come...maybe even a mountain run or two ;)

Just on IA alone we've seen the progression of 1439/2000's 2002 "budget build", a few 510's, and several other older cars the average person doesn't see everyday. Locally there are tons of rides from the "sportscar era" that have been perfectly restored, crazy swaps, or even a little of both...most magazines & websites feature one of these every once in a while but virtually none are based solely on them. I plan to change that.

Post up if you know anyone interesting in assisting or have a car or two in mind to feature...i have writers and photographers ready :)

hahaha, nothing is complete without a myspace page  http://www.myspace.com/vintagetuning

Until a forum is created it will just have to do, figured it will be the best way to network and advertise events...

Nope, i grew up in Oakwood and my parents live just out of earshot.

Strictly German is a nice spot too, since there is so much broke down german junk there.

Anyone ever use Joomla?! A friend suggested it when i was looking for templates and i Installed it without having a clue about CSS. Went to the bookstore looking for something on website developing and happened to find out a joomla book exists...a few hours later it was up and running and have full web access to do anything imagineable with it from management of advertising and forums to editing all the content...no more FTP uploads!! Now i just need content, you know...the minor details.

Still looking for cars to feature but have hit a slight delay because of the incident over the weekend.

i love that pic in post #9

I'd be really interested in this site. Send me a pm with what cars you are looking for. I don't know what is considered a vintage tuner, but i work at a restoration shop. May be able to look around and see if i can't find anything for you.

May be able to look around and see if i can't find anything for you.i'll post it here, thanks on the pic...i put together that little photoshop just bc they were two of the better pics i found that I had taken myself this year that pertained to the "sportscar era"...that and i love 356's speedsters!

Porsche's all day long...any Porsche back to the 356's, 550's, 912's, 911's, up through early to mid 80's, 930's etc, British sportscars: MG, Triumph, Austin Healey, Jaguar XKE's to Xk140's (ever see Cruel Intentions?) etc. to German BMW 2002's to Bavarians and Mercedes...to Italian: Alfa Romeo, DeTomaso, Ferrari, there's even a few Countach's and Miura's running around town, etc.

...However i'd like to focus on Japanese cars too: Datsun 510's, 240z's, 1600 roadster...original skylines. Old celica's to Honda's from the roadster up through the CVCC's and early Civic's and might even do the first gen CRX. I'm sure i can find some old VW's and might even come across a Volvo P1800. I haven't decided a cutoff year and some classic shows go up to '85 and others '89 but basically any car that you'd imagine to see at a historic race.

2005 Walter Mitty Historic Race Photos (http://www.speedminded.com/albums/mitty_04-31-05/)

Looking for car's that have a history of being tuned and raced, not necessarily that exact car but that make and model of the car. Street cars, track prepped cars, to full race...i'd like to do a little bit of each to keep a variety going. Basically entertain the older folks and educate younger ones about the history and evolution of the cars they drive today :)

how about a pontiac gto judge? lol We have one at the shop. We are in the process of doing a frame off restoration. I'll look around and see what we have there. Can't remember off the top of my head. I'll ask my boss if he knows of any cars you are looking for.

1992 volvo 240 custom T3 turbo...hows mine?Change that second nine into a 6 or 7 and we got a deal ;) If i featured cars as late as '92 that would open up the world to 1,000's of other vehicles and then why not go ahead and just add another year so i can include the FD RX7 & MK IV Supra. For the next 10 years P1800's and maybe a 262c Bertone would just about be the extent of my articles for Volvo...now a Volvo Amazon euro rally car from the late 50's or early 60's would be more than welcome but I have a better chance of scoring a test drive in a Ferrari 456 GT Sedan than coming across one of those
