you cannot install XP on a powerPC mac only on a intel mac

Ah, i saw Macbook in the title and ignored the powerbook bit. There's no camera over the screen, making this a powerbook, eg no windows. You might wanna fix that in your title

^ thank you! Some say these power pc's with alot of ram can out do the new intel macs....... They certainly are not obsolete though.
markopolo311
11-16-2006, 02:53 PM
they can, especially for mac specific applications that haven't been optimized for the intel processor
Title is fixed now, I got some info off of ebay, and dude was selling one just like it and he said Macbook, he is prolly a fag!
Guys/Gals, Im gonna be leaving out tomorrow for a week, so this thing will need to hold up till next weekend, if you are still interested then hit me up with a PM, and I will get back to you all next weekend!
Thanks, Rush

It's a Compaq R3000, not really a portable laptop but i use it everyday for class. It's got a Athlon 64 3000+ processor (same as my desktop lol). Quite a powerful laptop, it just sucks battery life (1 hourish) Widescren display too.

What about a 3.0 GHz HT Pentium 4 desktop, on a Gigabyte motherboard with 1.5 GB of DDR RAM, 2 optical drives (one DVD burner and one CD burner), A PCI express x16 6600GT videocard, aftermarket soundcard, all in a LANboy case?

Get out of it? I was looking to trade for the PB, unless that deal is off. I was gonna take the extra hard drives and the secondary NIC out of it. Us tech nerd were running the thing as a server, it has gigabit built into the mobo so i hadn't thought you'd be needint 2 gig E cards in one box.
Im not a computer guru, so I was gonna have him check it out and see if the price is good. I was looking for one myself as well. So it would either be for me or my girlfriend!
Just wanted a price on it, if the trade doesnt go through
markopolo311
02-15-2007, 06:06 PM
well i'm all for being honest and upfront, and i'd say your PB is worth more. If you want i'll sit down at newegg and figure up how much more.

btw the desktop is my roommate's, not mine.
I'll ask him what he wants for it straight up when he gets back.

I let my brother inlaw look at it, and he said he could build your roomates computer with brand new stuff in it for $500, so we would have to figure out some boot.
let me know, what your roomate says

He says that the your brother inlaw is right, but only about the components. The case and XP pro bring the price up to around $700 present day price. He says he'll sell it to you for $600. He only marginally wants the Powerbook, and that was just because you had it. If you can get the $1000 cash that it's worth, more power too you.

You should lower your expectations... $1200 is a little high for a 1.67GhZ Powerbook. $900 is probably a little more fair od a price

Just trying to stay in the price range as some of the other Pb. Had it on ebay, and the bid got up to $1050, and yeah I could of took that, but ummm I didnt! Did you not see the Big OBO next to the price, normally when you quote a price and put OBO next to it, it means that "Hey Im taking offers that are somewhat close to what I have priced, Hit me with a good offer and I might let this thing go!"

Dont make me jack your thread. Just saying so bc I have a TiPB 1Ghz and a 12 inch 1.5 Ghz that I'm trying to get rid of, and at much better prices... I'll give you $875 for it tho. Plus ebay prices are way inflated now.. eBay just aint what it used to be, with shipping and handling, paypal fees, eBay fees....

Not true on ebay man, You can always find good deals on there with whatever your looking for, and you can always make a few on selling on there as well.
The Laptop is worth the price listed, no doubt.
