So there's already a small line forming outside BestBuy @ Kennesaw for the PS3... and one of my co-workers is rushing to get off work to go join the line ASAP.

Ironic thing is, BestBuy sent out a newsletter to employees saying to call the cops of ppl are waiting in line earlier than 24hrs prior to the launch... hmm... lol.

PlayStation 3 is facing off in a three-way console war for this Christmas against Nintendo Co.'s Wii, which goes on sale Nov. 19 in the U.S., and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360, which had a year's head start over rivals.

Although response has been enthusiastic to the PS3, the launch hasn't been smooth.

Production problems meant that only 100,000 PlayStation 3 machines were in time for its debut in Japan. When it goes on sale in the United States on Nov. 17, some 400,000 PS3 consoles will be available there.

The console's European launch has been pushed back until March. That was the second delay, as PS3 had been initially promised for spring of this year.

I doubt that will be possible on a lunch break, seeing how the stores are opening around 7-8 and they will all be gone out of the store within atleast an hour. And with some stores opening at midnight, this might be kind of tough. :2cents:

Update: We have over 20ppl camping outside since yesterday afternoon... all equipped with tents and other survival goodies. Its been raining since last night... and planned go from rain showers into heavy thunder storms / tornado weather tonight.

Sucks for those who wait and won't get one due to supply... =[

I went to the new BB in Buckhead on Sunday and there were people camped out there, too. They had folding camp chairs, sleeping bags, and were watching NFL games on a 42" plasma - WTF? It was just resting against the wall outside the store.

I guess they were also waiting for the PS3.
