Okay, so I want an iPod but I can't afford a new one. Sucks for me.

I'm thinking of buying a used one from a member on here. However, I remember reading something about the software and the iPod itself only being able to be used with one computer. The original that it was installed on.

If I buy a used iPod, how can I be sure that my computer will recognize it? I'd hate to spend over $100 on something I can't use. Thanks in advance.

thats bullshit

I gave my boyfriend my old ipod nano and he uses it on his computer fine.

As long as you dont buy songs from apple's itunes you have nothing to worry about. The ipod will play on any computers just the protected song will only play on one computer.

But who the hell pays for music anyways? :lmfao:

I gave my boyfriend my old ipod nano and he uses it on his computer fine. The thing is adding and removing old songs, vids and such. For instance, I can plug up my girlfriend's iPod to my computer, but when I add files, it erases everything else that's on there. It won't let you just add and remove individual files for some reason.

The setting to change is on itunes that u put on your computer not that ipod itself, if i remember correctly

The reason is because you the user set the itunes program set to synchronize, if u disabled synchronize the itunes wont touch your songs allowing you to manually transfer songs

Well, to solve this problem, go to the Apple website. They have a forum, & they'll answer your question. There's a way to do it, you'll just have to ask them.....Vegeta

there's a program called Ephpod, use IT instead of itunes and u can always see (and add/remove) the stuff that's already on there.

Just make sure the battery isn't fubar. If it is PM me and I'll change it for you (2400mah upgrade). I bought an IPOD from a member who was kind enough to sell it with a dieing battery (there's no real way to measure the battery life).

right but keep in mind that unless you have the identical music library on 2 or more computers, you will NOT be able to see the music on your ipod to transfer (ie. you cannot use your ipod as a traveling harddrive for music). like i said, if that's what you intend on doing, download EPHPOD, nuff said.

I already told the guy I'd buy it. I just want something to play music and vids on when I'm bored.

I was thinking of buying myself an iPod, but im not sure if im going to be using it all the time. Or just spend the money on a 360 or save up for a Ps3.
