i have a 92 honda civic hatch and was wanting to do a full complete k20a2 swap. people tell me not to do it because of space deprevation and that it will be almost impossible to do any upgrade to the engine. now, my boy is telling me to get the k20a3 because i can do more with the engine. please someone help me make a decision on the right kind of swap for the best preformance and more horsepower????????????

I've always tried to look at an engine swap at more angles than just horsepower gains... there is also ease of maintenance, availability of parts, replacement part cost, and so forth.

Yeah you can fit an K series in an EG, fairly easily, but it's cramped for space like you said, and quite a bit more expensive than your standard B series swap.

If you're looking for horsepower and speed, then the Special K is where it's at.

But if you want an engine that's easier to fix on the side of the road, a ton cheaper, and almost as good... build a B series and drop it in.

there is a TAD bit less room, but nothing that would make me now do the swap.

youll want the K20A (Type-R) or the K20A2 (RSX Type-s) engine, NOT THE K20A3. The k20A3 is the 160hp Civic Si engine/Base model RSX motor that is no where near as upgradeable as the K20A an K20A2 motors.
