ok guys... i have a 99 gst and im starting to collect new parts for a new setup... it will be a hahn super 16g, greddy fmic, 660 injectors, walbro 255, s-afc 2, and hopefully this exhaust set up... i can get a xs-power t3 manifold, xs-power 44 mm wastegate, and dump for 200 from a friend of mine... are xs-power crap? i looked at everything today and it looks really good. all the welds are thick and strong, wastegate brand new, but ive heard about xs manifolds are known to crack. would it be a good buy? yay or nay?

u always give me the answer i dont want dammit! dude on a 4g forum said its good if its stainless because its more "plasticy" which will allow it to expand and contract as it heats up and cools down

ya that expanding and contracting breaks those nice pretty welds, or should i say the metal close to the welds not the actual welds...

Heres the truth most of the tubular headers will crack if you put big turbos on them! I personally know 1g,2g,and evo owners spending from $400 to $1000 for tubulars and they have cracken and leaked in some way because of the heat those big turbos generate. I had a XS tubular and my old 91 TSI with a Evo 3 turbo and it never cracked or leaked, however i did weld brackets from the turbo flange to the manifold flange to make sure it was sturdy enough. I drove my Tsi from Conyers to Ellenwood where i work 3 or 4 days out the week and alot on the weekend and i never had a problem. A 16g turbo is not considered a big turbo so you should have no problem, but put reinforcements on it just to make sure!!
