Broken exhaust manifold bolt

Ok this is my second time breaking one of these bolts. all I was doing was tightening the nut on the bolt using a torque wrench at 38 ft lbs. It is just a pia to get the manifold,turbo,downpipe off and I really dont want to do it again just to get the bolt out of the block. I was wondering if it is possible to drill the bolt out or just grind it all a way. my plan was to use my extraction bit to make a a groove in the bolt, so that I can back it out enough so that I use my bolt grip . I then will put my breaker bar on the bolt grip to get the bolt all the way out. Or do I need to bite my lip and get to work on getting the manifold off, the turbo and the downpipe??Also is it easier to get the exhaust manifold bolt out while the engine is still hot??

1. Roll of DUC TAPE
2. Zip Ties

definitely not easier to do it when the car's hot, but definitely easier to take the nuts off the studs after you spray/soak them in PB Blaster for 10 minutes.

i don't know how much clearance you have to get a drill in there with a bit to drill into the stud so you can extract it, but definitely get yourself a punch so you can center the hole you're going to make into the stud that way you don't mess up the threads/head. if you have room for the drill then give it a shot, but if you have enough stud hanging out of the head to get some vise grips on it after you remove the manifold again, I'd probably just eat it and take it back off.

Definately use PB Blaster, and if there is a good amount sticking out of the head, I'd remove everything, and just use a stud installer/remover socket. should work without drilling. But of course that 's if it isn't broken flush with the head.
