NEW Pics on Page 2!!

Finally purchased a house. Made my $1,000 deposit and signed a contract today. Closing date is the end of September when I get done with training and will be back in Atlanta. I'm very excited as this is my first house.

Located 10 minutes from Atlanta Motor Speedway and a 2 car garage for my babies :-)

Plan to live in this house 2-3 years, sell (make 20k-30k), and then upgrade to 200k house ....and still be single (doing it all by my damn self) GS-11 by then

This is a picture of an exact spec home in the sub division. Since I am not ready to close I am having one built which means I get to pick my own colors, save some $$, etc...

congradulations!! who'd you go with for a finance company? me and my girl went with countrywide for our house in stone mountain (before i was suddenly single). we were "locked " in mortgage wise for $840 per. mo. that was in april 2002, now it's 2005 and they are like "oops we flubbed on your escrow account, sorry." now the mortgage is $1014 per mo. now she wants to sell and get away from them(country wide) next year. they are idiots.

Thanks for all the comments!!

I have not settled with a loan at this point. I will hopefully decide by Monday evening between the 2 loan offices.

As far as the houses being close. Yeah, it kind of sucks, but then again I didn't want a big yard because I will not have a lot of time to spend working on it. And the neighborhood association fees include front and rear lawn care as well as pine straw twice a year. If you put up a fence you loose the free mowing, so you know I am not bothering with a fence.

I was just in Home Depot looking at florescent lighting for the garage. I plan to spend a good amount of time out there so I am going to hook it up with some nice lighting and a stereo system for those longs days / nights :bigok:

Sorry to hear that because that really sucks!! I've been there with the marriage thing and don't plan on going back for quite some time. I'm doing it all by myself and no way in hell a woman is going to take any of it from me :2up:

we don't ever do anything anyways...we have 2 kids so a big yard is more important.

The builder didnt get greedy on space. That is what the market is all about.

More people than not want a small yard.

it obviously depends on the perspective form which you look at it man.

It is all basic supply and demand. The builder is building what people want, otherwise they wouldnt buy it, they would buy somewhere else.

Its not about perspective at all.

sweet - that is what I'm doing with my house. I bought it a year ago - the value has already gone up about 35K+ and I plan on selling it within the next year and moving up to something bigger with my baby (James)

Here's a quick pic of mine - had it built and moved in last july:

This is true, people are getting lazier, and don't want to spend hrs a week taking care of a yard. I wish I'd of gotten something with a smaller yard, the only time I use it is when I'm mowing it.

I was viewing it from the aspect of the builders fitting as many houses into a particular area. The demand is always there(true) when dealing with a house. While some people want that smaller yard, others want a more land but settle for the limited space at the price.

But if it came down to the same house with more acrage *same price*, most people will chose the one with more acrage.

just my thoughts.
