I'd rather get some good pads and two good tires and spend a day out at Road Atlanta.

I have done it twice in Charlotte. I suggest doing the "Experince of A Lifetime" I think its over a thousand but they let you do over 160 if you show you are able to. I did the one below it for 800 something my second time and hit 156. Its pretty crazy, and well worth the money if you ask me. The ride along is fun too, they take you to over 170.

I've done it at Atlanta, Bristol, and Richmond. It's definitely worth it. They will only let you go about 2/3 as fast as the car can go. But it's still fast. I could of def. went faster. But you can't blame them, it would take a lot of $400 rides to pay for that 1 accident if someone couldn't handle 100%. You'll have a lot more appreciation for ovals, and Nascar drivers in general. There really is a lot you have to concentrate on. Imagining a car in front, behind, or even beside you (or all three) for 300 laps definitely opens your eyes. If you think its just go fast, turn left I challenge you to go do it, and then come back and tell me how easy it would be.

If you want to have a lot of fun save up $2-3K, and do a weekend racing school with Panoz, or someone else.

Gotta give 'em respect, it's a very dangerous sport. How does the steering feel?

They have power steering, but it's not exactly like a street car. There is a lot of feedback thru the tires, and then with the tires soft and so wide it feels different. Don't know how to really describe it.

Yes the power steering that is loud as shit, and yes alot of feedback through the steering wheel. Its really hard to describe. I thought it got easier the faster I went. After I was done, even with breaks between I was physically and mentally drained afterwards. I gained alot of respect for those guys afterwards. It was hot as fuck the day I went and I got really uncomfortable strapped in the car sitting in pit road.
