Ok so the Playstation 3 is going to be comming out soon. An est. of 400,000 will be sent to america, so thats around 8,000 per state. Whos going to get one and keep one?

I plan to do what I did last year and make a good profit selling these things on Ebay again. Anyone else doing this? I made around $5-6K last year doing this and right now people are estimating to make double this year becuase these PS3's are estimated to sell for $2500-3000+ each.

What do yall think about all this?

Who is going to be waiting in the lines for 12+ hours for a unit? Whos going to try to get more than one? Any other comment on this? Just wondering what everyone elses view is on all of this crazy shit?

I was first in line for reserve at EB Games last month... And, my wife and I will be camping out at Wal-Mart for over 12 hours on the 16th. All goin on ebay.

I don't think they'll sell for $2500-3000, but it would be nice.

its cool. 8000 units in GA that means there will not be that many at each store. I have some insight from a little man at the Sony distrobution warehouse that there will be a store somewhere in the GA area worth driving to becuase htey will over 50+ units.....but

the only thing I am afraid of is places not letting you camp out. I remember like 2 months ago when the PS3 release date was set something was in the AJC and NewYork Times about this year certain companies will not let peple camp out for systems this year due to the crime of last years 360's. It will still happen, but I dont see how they would let people get them. Run to the store at 9am when they open?

Uhhhh.... yea I find that totally worth it. Say I only sell it for 1500, thats still going to be 750 dollars in my pocket after ebay and paypal fees and tax. And besides, it's not like i would be doing much else on a wednesday and thursday night. If it sells for 4 to 5x its value, how is it not worth it? Whatever, you will be one less person waiting in line before me.

okay you will buy it at $600 IF you get one. odds are you wont....seeing as how theres going to probably be hundreds of other people there but okay...

600 after tax around $642 then times 4 times its value equals $$$2568 - orginal 643 = $$$1926 / 36 hours of waiting (saying that you dont wait any longer!!!!) = $54 an hour. Not a bad payout...if you manage to get one,,,BUT

Now lets say 1000 people are waiting the same times as you. TThen when the door opens you really think that lines ever going to matter...it will be every man for himself!!!! but oaky say the store gets 16 units....that gives you very very very little odds of getting one. SO yes thats a HUGE waste of time. If you do manage to get one more power to you....but think of what people went through for the 360...and that had preorders and everything...now think of what a LIMITED SUPPLY will do to people!!!!! no preorder nothing...every man for himself....so yes once again HUGE waste of time!

I see what you're saying but If I show up to the store and there are already 100 people out there, why would I stay? It would be obvious I won't get one. And also, Best Buy and Circuit City don't do pre-orders so you don't have to worry about your second scenario at those places.

I've been reading reports that they'll only be 200'000 in america for launch day. Nevertheless, they went all wrong w/ this console this time around. They should've made blu-ray an add-on to the console instead of bundling it in. That alone would've made the cost the same as the X360..... But I''ll be selling them so oh well.... They say Approx 400,000..but really its between 150-200,000 UNITS..On day 1 Launch Day. :tongue1:

If youre stationed in Iraq right now how long will it be before u get back? and when u get the PS3 will you have it shipped out to you. becasue it would only mnake sense to me since ur not in the states then its probably gonna take a long time to get to you. i know how the military mail takes forever. so wouldnt it be reasonable to wait until u return to the states before purchasing one since u probably wont get one shipped to u by then anyway and u could buy one here for cost. just my opinion. however its ur money.
