I just got a new car and the stock cd player area is so large if I put an aftermarket in it, it'll look dumb. So, I want to put a 10-12" Subwoofer in my trunk with an amp. But, my cd player has some settings I can play with but not a subwoofer out. The question is, the part I want is it a Crossover or Equalizer so i can fine tune my speakers. My car is an 05 Mustang. I would like to keep the stock look but also manage my subwoofer system. Thanks!

you are goin to need a hi/lo adapter... an analog eq will do fine.. and a four channel amp to really be able to tune everything.. the equilizer will control the entire system if you add a four channel amp and a sub amp... but if you just want to control the sub independently.. it will work as well..

why not just get a double-din head unit?? i know it wouldn't look like factory though...or did i just answer my own question?

ACCORDRYDA-thanks!

Chuck-The factory stereos in fords are all huge. So, sticking in a headunit wouldn't fill up the hole well enough. There would be too much plastic around it.

no, the insurance was a little high wth my background. So I bought a brand new 05 Mustang. o'well. I gotta find a shop that does custom work to stangs. beats having a 4 cylinder. peace.

Just get the dashkit for it. its like 10 bucks. they look fine.

What kind of ford is it? ill even give you the model number you need. ive never seen a ford kit that didnt look nice. And putting a half way decent head unit in versus using a line out converter and eq would be a MUCH better choice. And depending on what kind of ford it is some of them you can get some decent cash for a working factory radio.

I have an 05 Mustang. The stock radio is so large, that if I pulled it out and put in a cd player, it would be half the size, so there would be A LOT of plastic surrounding it. Ya get what I am saying? Anyways, aprreciate the help. I thought this thread died already.
