what do u guys think about corollas? I think they are very nice would make a nice daily driver if it has that lip kit and all....

RSX = not enough power and too much $$$

I don't have much experience with VW, but I personally would stay away from them (at least for a daily driver). A friend of mine bought a new 02 jetta, his car was in the shop more than my DSM (which are know for breaking down). And this was a daily driver that he didn't mod at all!

Anyways as far a good cars under 20k I would have to agree with the SRT-4. RSX and the Tc don't have much in the way of performance, but they are nice rides.

fwd under 20g you not going to get major performance unless you get srt4 or 1.8t, thats about it... everything else is just uncivilized :D

as far as dubs go, i have two and haven't had any issues w/ either or the previous ones i've owned... but you get what you pay for and will not own another domestic unless its a truck or FREE.

I wouldnt recommend them. I got one and ended up taking it back b/c Yota wouldnt work with me on the financing. I fucking hated that car as well. I mean it is a Corolla......lol

I would recommend a 05 Sentra Special Edition. It has everything that a spec-v comes with except the motor. I just wanted something halfway nice enough for me to drive until I trade it in on an 06 Maxima. The financing worked in my favor extremely well with Nissan also. I got in this car for 16k.

Cant recommend a new civic (as I saw you listed), the new ones are just problematic and very crappy build quality, Honda's are not what they used to be.

Depends what you want tho, speed, reliability, comfort, etc. You cant have it all tho. LOL

I really like the new tC's.......inside is sooooo nice and very original...and they are quicker than the type s....on the interstate they are at least.

depends what you want to do...
Daily driver, I would pick that Corolla over a Nissan anyday of the week.

Performance for under that price.. SRT-4 .. No doubt. How much are the RSX-S going for these days ?
Also you can get a nice S2k Used for under 20 g's.
Alot of options out there.

Well i am in the same boat and i had choices of:
lightning
srt4
s2000
mini cooper s

i am going to purchase the srt4 because they are an amazing car for the price. Plus its the last year they are making them so they wont be as easy to find(not that they are now).

However if you dont want htat car because its a "neon" then you can get these nice cars for under 20k and you can take a few turns to get there for used:

You can go the honda route
Prelude
S2000
Integra
Civic
RSX - Type S

You can go the Ford Route:
Focus SVT
Lightning
Mustang GT

Toyota
Celica GTS
MR2
Supra

Nissan
SER Spec V
240sx
350z(if your lucky)

Suburu Mitsu
WRX Lancer
Eclipse GSX - GST
3000gt VR 4

I mean theres plenty of routes. Corrolla is a pos imo and its slow as piss. Sorry for the long post.

The only corolla i could recommend would be a corolla XRS. id strongly consider a used car unless the finance term is an issue... so much nicer cars can be had

Really? I drove a tC when it first came out and I thought it was pretty slow (Collins was with me and he said the same thing). I also thought the interior was alright, but kinda cheap feeling (for example the sunroof shook like a mother on the highway when it was opened).

Lots of body roll I noticed also...

But its got Toyota reliability and nice options for the price... I just cant get over its stubby looks tho.

If you want a very reliable daily drive, that's fast, and sexy..... I'd check out a 3.2 CL-S 6-speed. Even the automagic is fairly reliable, until it breaks. But Acura has that covered. Here's an example.

Example #1 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=172661216&dealer_id=55444136&car_year=2003&search_type=both&make=ACURA&distance=0&model=3.2CL&transmission=Manual&make2=&address=30040&certified=&advanced=y&max_mileage=&max_price=&min_price=&first_record=26&end_year=2003&color=&start_year=2003&drive=&isp=y&pager.offset=25&engine=&lang=en&fuel=&doors=&cardist=544#vdptop

Example #2 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=181131733&dealer_id=615961&car_year=2003&search_type=both&make=ACURA&model=3.2CL&transmission=Manual&distance=0&address=30040&make2=&advanced=y&certified=&max_mileage=&max_price=&min_price=&first_record=26&end_year=2003&color=&start_year=2003&drive=&isp=y&pager.offset=25&engine=&lang=en&fuel=&doors=&cardist=513

Example #3 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=178736041&dealer_id=56008617&car_year=2003&search_type=both&make=ACURA&model=3.2CL&transmission=Manual&distance=0&address=30040&make2=&advanced=y&certified=&max_mileage=&max_price=&min_price=&first_record=26&end_year=2003&color=&start_year=2003&drive=&isp=y&pager.offset=25&engine=&lang=en&fuel=&doors=&cardist=511

the 05 type s is pretty quick. The 3.2 Type S is a good choice i agree with that and i thinkt eh copper ones look hot. What are you buying this car for reasons wisE? Like do you want to handle? or go faster?

well basically just a good reliable daily driver, I4, doesnt have to be super fast but has to have some get up and go (my neon isnt bad) and looks and compliments and has to be a manual and last more then 100K miles (damn neons!!).

SO far my choices are:

Corolla XRS
Corolla LE
Corolla S

WIll be looking into Mazda and a few things u guys said.
