92 hatch, has skunk2 camber kits front and rear, also has skunk2 full coilovers.
here is my problem, i was on the way back from columbus monday morning and my car just jerked really hard a couple of times. i mean real hard, like if i didnt hold on to the steering wheel, i would fly off the road or into someone....so last night on the way home from work, samething...this morning samething, now tonight, it has gotten worst...
i know my car needs an alignment, but i was trying to wait until i put on my rear disc and front disc of a gsr to get this done, but now i dont think i can wait...anyone know if this is the result of the alignment being of, or any idea?

i've never had a fwd car.....but.....i don't think your problem is a ball joint or tie rod because if it broke the car wouldn't be driveable and you'd have a wheel cocked to the side lol. i'm thinking more along the lines of torque steer. i'm thinking something's going on in your transmission/differential, it won't hurt to see if 1. you have any leaks going on there, it's not uncommon for the axle seals to leak where the cv axles meet with the tranny/diff, 2. while you're under the car check your trans fluid level. it's the top plug on the passenger side, use a 1/2 inch breaker bar to get it out, the 3/8 (smaller) plug is the drain plug don't take that one out. give it a shot lemme know what you find :ninja:

it is possible that the alignment could be really bad i know my car is all outta wack lol..it pulls to the right like a mofo...

Were you low on gas?
I recall a few times in the past I drove 2 of my cars out of gas and I experienced some jerks kinda like that.
If everything in the tranny looks good then it could be a issue with combustion, sounds like the engine could be jumping combustion which could possibly cause a stall/burst effect and lead to the cause of a jerk in the steering. But that is just a guess. Does the engine sound normal when that jerking happens? Notice any change in exhaust pitch? Or is it all strictly in the steering?

Being out of alignment would mean the jerk to the side would be constant effect where as his issue is sparatic.
thats just vattack kicking in

yeah, well i dont even have that so that couldnt be it...but damn i want a new motor soon....
well peeps, i dont know...it mostly happens when i have driven for about 8-10 miles, thats when it starts, then it sounds like i hit a pot hole (has that thump sound) at the same time it jerks really hard to the right and like i said if i wasnt holding on to the steering wheel or even just holding it but not tight, it would jerk out of my hands...
ive checked the tranny fluid, ive checked all the ball joints, i checked my tie rod ends, ive looked over everything man...i even called my homie to give me some more advice and nothing...so, dont know what to do...but take it to a shop unfortunately....

so its not a constant pull to the right? by any chance did you hit the brakes and this happen. thats the only thing i can think of that would jerk the car and not be a constant pull

oh did you check your control arm bushings??? if not jack up the right side and pull on the wheel if it moves a good bit then its your bushings

naw, i was riding on the highway and it just did it out the blue on monday morning...and i did pull on the right wheel to check that, but no luck, i changed my tie rods when i bought the car about 3 months ago.
and no its not a constant pull...its speratic (spell ?) so it happens like every minute or so..maybe less...

Just a long shot but maybe ur wheel bearings are fucked. my freind had something similar and his wheel bearings ended up kinda like welded to gether becasue of the heat. ur wheel hub assembly might be going out

i think if it were in the drivetrain it would continue straight rather that jerk one way.

:D not a good suggestion but funny...
and the car has 230,xxx miles on it...so the wheel bearings will make the car jerk to one side like that???

well i would think if the wheel bearings are locking up on that wheel it might make it feel jerky

i would say thats a safe guess if your wheel bearing have 230K+ on them

check the eccentric bolts in your camber kit.. most of those kits are POS's and I'd never drive a car with them.. there's a possiblitiy one of the bolts is loose and causing your control arm to wander
