If I were you I might take the BOV off for sale. Some people may like it but it is a clear indicator that the car has been running rich. Cars with MAF's are like that. Good luck with the sale though.

HAHAHA dude a blow off valve does not make a car run rich. It only makes the car backfire in lower gears while decelerating while not in the gas because our cars don't respond well to atmospheric BOVs G/L with the sale though I know it won't take long Wagon /STi front end swap is my dream.

And you sure are a clear and utter idiot that doesnt know what the hell he is talking about.

So listen here NOOB, a blow off valve WILL NOT CAUSE A BACKFIRE. Maybe an afterfire, if that is what your little mind is reffering to. A blow off valve does make the car run rich during shifts because the MAF believes there is still air still waiting to be combusted however there isnt because it wasnt recirculated. And you want to know what else? There is a catlytic element before the turbo. Wanna know something else? Depending on how long the stock UpPipe has been ran with the blow off valve it could be a ticking time bomb. How does a turbine compressor wheel trying to eat up pieces of the converter sound? I dont like ruining a sale, but its something that needs to be looked into. So stop with the shit you dont know anything about and get the hell out of here.

Thanks nemesis for doing that. I don't appreciate haha comments after my posts.

In refrence to the sale, I don't know why if you know what your selling shouldn't be venting to the atmosphere you don't change it. Originally I wasn't suggesting that you should hide the problem I was just saying you should fix it. I'm just saying.

THe Car has the Factory Cat pipe you are refering to in the Trunk hatch. I am not very mechanical in that aspect. Our Mech. Says the car is ok and safe which I will take as truth. I encourage anyone as we always do to have any vehicle on our lot inspected prior to the sale. PLease if you are considering buying this vehicle have your mech inspect it.
I will have my mechanic respond on here tommorow when we open up to clear things up.

It's not necessarily a MAF thing. It is a draw-thru maf setup that will not like bov's that vent to the atmosphere. If you have a blow-thru setup you'll be fine because the bov can be installed before the MAF.

p.s.
I realize that this car has a draw-thru setup, I'm just saying.

p.s.s.
I like the wheels, gold on black is hawt. Now is just needs some black housing headlights (I think the JDM ones are like that..maybe) and some black fog light covers and it would be dead sexy. g/l with the sale. :goodjob:

VTA on car with mass air = metered air being vented = rich.

Sounds to me like your car knowledge came from TF&TF.

lol and what might the reason be for it "backfiring" on the decel? because its running rich maybe, that "backfiring" you hear is the unburnt fuel being dumped into the combustion chamber then out into the turbo and igniting in the hot exhaust side of the turbo and the exhuast pipe.

but anyways good deal on the car, beautiful car but i'm really not feeling the style of the wheels, the color looks great but the style just doesn't look right..good luck on the sale. I know someone will find the car appealing.

are there any modifications to this vehicle besides the cold air intake and blow off valve? is there any suspension or exhaust work or is that all factory?

HAHAHA dude a blow off valve does not make a car run rich.

LOL your kidding right? an atmospheric BOV does exactly that - lets see - bov lets out air into atmosphere, therefore for that split moment less air is going into the engine ( its being blown off ) therefore there is more fuel than air in the ratio than normal which equals richness :lmfao: :lmfao:

Ron - man, I wish I had the money to get it - I've been wanting a daily ,and I want a Subaru :D Esp. a bugeye :D
