So on the way back from the malibu meet my boy following me misses a turn. So i wait in front of a neighborhood for him to come back and catch up. While im waiting some car pulls up behind me so i pull out and head out in the road so he can come out. As im taking off i guess he hears my non-existing exhaust and tries to run, so i play a little and he speeds off and gives me the flashers..... :thinking: wtf. So he slows down and i catch up and we slow down (speedo broken btw). 2nd gear and we're off and im already pulling on him. So im hitting 3rd and very slowly inching away at the top of third i shut it down. Thinking i just raced a d15 civic or somin. He asks me what i got so we pull over and talk. He claims to have a b20 with header intake and exhaust in his EG. I call bs, he pops his hood and its sittin right there. He said he was running a p28 ecu which was hurtin some power, but said he hit vtec and i still pulled on him-lol. Some might call bs on me, but im just as shocked, i never thought i could have pulled on him. But he was a real cool guy and gave me props so it was all good. This was my first actual head up race where no cars were blocking that ive been able to do in the car.

No, it's not. The VTEC valve covers don't even fit the LS/B20/NonVTEC heads if I recall correctly.

Actually, what I meant to get across was that VTEC heads aren't difficult to put on a B20 bottom end, but he didn't have VTEC because the valve cover would've said so. You cannot interchange VTEC/NonVTEC valve covers. So if he indeed did have a VTEC head, it would've stated so on the valve cover unless he went through the trouble of shaving it, which is doubtful.

I've wasted too much time on this thread.
