I got my HKS Type 0 tt yesterday. I know the ebrake tap-in wire is a safety feature to prevent theft, etc., and the instructions say that the timer wont work unless its hooked into the ebrake ground.

Here is my problem: I dont have a ground at all on my ebrake....the wire is gone. Previous owner must've done something crazy with it. Question is, how can I get around this in order to make the turbo timer work? Can I just ground the ebrake wire for the turbo timer someplace else? If that works I know that it will trick the timer into thinking the ebrake is up at all times and will probably allow the car to be driven without the keys in it. That would be crazy, but I have to do something to make it work.

Help me please!

try grounding it to just a plain ground, that should do the trick.
it should make it think the ebrake is always being grounded.

if that doesnt work hook it to something that remains with constant signal (such as your lighter or alive wire on your car radio)

the whole objective is it to either see a signal (electronic pulse) or to be grounded, one of the two will work.

i reccomended the cigarrette lighter cause its a cheap fuse incase it ever goes out!.

Thank you sir. I got the same answer in a 240 forum as well, so what I figured must be right. I'm gonna try it when I get some free time later in the week and then hopefully it will be HKS Powa!!!! lol

If you ground it to the spade where the ebrake ground used to be, it should work like it is supposed to. The ebrake is mechanically grounding when you pull it so it would ground up and not ground down. The ebrake wire that is supposed to be in the car usually ties into the ebrake light on the dash.
