Just now, my engine started making a clicking noise. I think its one of my valves, but I'm not sure. Anybody know what it is?

My friend ran his SOHC KA without changing his oil for like 20000 miles.
He would just run out and when he heard that ticking, put more in.

Your friend doesn't sound too smart. That scared the piss out of me. And it can't be good for the engine...

Don't be so quick to point fingers, your the one driving around asking others what a clicking noise is when you have no oil in the motor.

I didn't think about it cause I just had an oil change like three weeks ago. I don't drive around with almost no oil in my car on purpose.

ditto!
And KA's are really tough. You probably did no damage whatsoever to it. My car however.. would have died LoL.

At least its not a 4AGE, they start ticking with oil in them. :) And Ninja, you may not drive around with no oil on purpose but you still got on a public forum asking what a ticking noise could be without doing the most simple of checks yourself. You assumed the people changing your oil put the right amount in it and that none leaked or burned up. Those kind of mindless assumptions will end up getting you a new motor.

My friend's 93 Ka knocks really bad. I believe it's the rod.
