I just got a jensen 9510 and was wondering if anyone has used the toggle switch method to bypass the emergency brake wire? If so what did you hook it up to? Or if anyone knows of a better way around this let me know.

it's very easy, there should be a pink wire (parking brake wire). Take that wire and run it to one side of a toggle switch, on the other side run the wire to any form of ground (metal surface). Then to test it just turn on your unit and it will probably say please apply parking brake or something like that. Then just toggle the switch up and down and it should come on. :goodjob:
If you have anymore questions just PM me.

I just grounded mine (pioneer) and it worked fine. I don't think you have to go through so much trouble.

u have to toggel that unit, it has to read 12v for 3-5 seconds then it works

you can just ground it in the older units but the new units look for a change in polarity. Just grounding it will not work anymore :goodjob:

I used the toggle switch and it worked fine. But the video output is making my other screens blurry so I'm going to upgrade to some better hookups tomorrow and see if that fixs it.

Depending on how many screens you have, you might look at a video amplifier, or possibly better cables, or both.

um i also have a jensen indash tv but i used an alternating switch in my car. it's a red button like in gone in 60 seconds =) i hooked up the pink wire to the switch then the switch to the black ground cable. so to turn on the tv, i would press the button. i tried grounding it to metal, but it didn't work, or the cig lighter... lol i pretty much experimented my own way, but i'm guessing there was an easier way

could be a bad switch, try replacing that switch with another. Don't use splice the pink wire into the black ground wire. Use some form of ground. Make sure it is a good ground as well.

I have a way to bypass the switch and grounding part of it.

Its a hidden menu system that shuts the entire function of the ebrake use off, and allows you to play illegal burned dvds. Yep most if not all Jensen units.

If you would like these instructions PM me and we'll work something out.
