But in answer to your immediate question. CAI, TRD Exhaust, port stock headers, or replace with new, then port, & of course weight reduction. I hope that helps :goodjob: ....Vegeta

On this site? I'm sure there are some people, tons of shops here. They have their banners at the top right of the forums all the time. I don't wanna callout names, cause they may not work on Celi's like that.
Their is a guy on here named DrTweak, he's in Savannah, Ga & he works on Celi's hard. He should have a post about an engine swap into 3rd Generation Celica. PM him, he should be able to do all the work you are wanting.
I PM'd him about my turbo set-up & he's very reasonably priced, & nice dude.:goodjob: So PM him, DrTweak....Vegeta

Okay, now the guy on this Celica site I belong too ports headers for $140 for GT, & $150 + shipping. There is small core charge, but he will send you a ported header, then you will swap, & send him your old one, & get refund on the $40 core charge.
You need more info, I can hit him up. The power gains were impressive from the people who had this done( before & after dyno's showed it). Most had basic CAI, & decent exhaust. You need more info feel free to reply here, or send PM, & I will try to get your question answered.:goodjob: .....Vegeta..P.S Snoozing time now tho. lol:D

well if your against a swap the only way to make power out of a 1zz is stroking it and installing larger cams. my buddies MKIII MR2 runs the MWR 2.0 kit. AEM intake, MWR valves, MWR springs, port and polished throttle body and head, PPE header and test pipe (no cat), Apexi N1 cat back, Power FC and put down 136whp/132ftlbs at 8100 rpms. thats 160ish to the crank which is decent for the 1zz, pretty torqy actually. the responce of the motor is the fun part and the spider only weighing 2100+ lbs makes it a screamer. but alas the 2zz is lighter and makes more power stock.hell my silvertop 20v makes the same power he is puting down stock (minus the tq lol). he is in the process of installing some crower 280/280 cams now that should put him in the 155-160 whp range...that should take advantage of the head work, stronger valves, and larger diameter header...i wouldnt be suprised if he didnt make more reving the 1zz out to maybe 8500-8700....if i were you i woulnt waste your money running NA on a 1zz...buy the stage 1-2 MWR turbo kit for the 1zz and make some real power

I was going to mention MWR to him Sport, but he said no turbo, but with 1ZZ I'm figuring thats only way. Hell I don't even know if this is manual or Auto:thinking: but this will be interesting.
Oh, 00Celica, I may, MAY come to that meet, if you wanna meet there I'll come. I've been to one of those meets, & some people have issues with my car, being a ricer. Now my car is fast, & has potential, but it's lime, & has a spoiler, & lights, and. LMAO:bump:
But I'll probably come if you wanna see how my car is setup, & too swap idea's:goodjob: ....Vegeta

You can check newcelica.org (just dont post up this question b/c the only thing some people will do is make fun of you for having a gt celica) There is a guy (Boosted2.0) that does ported headers. Have you thought about Nitrious....just a idea. Like sport20 said check www.monkeywrenchracing.com they have many things for both the gt & gts

Im assuming you mean head.....if however you are talking bout exhaust, you have a HEADER...as in one...not headers...

^actually if you lookin into the MWR man they are running low 10's with a turbo 1zz. they arent a bad motor and they are WAY lighter than a 3s...IMHO thought the celica was never meant for boost...your best bet is to save up for a 2zz or 3vz if you want real power(i know they swap them in MKIII spiders not sure ab celicas...although same mounts)

he is probably talking ab port matching the header..the 1zz headers are horrible, not near as over engineered as the 2zz ones with the theta plates.

but how much will you spend on a turbo kit, and building that motor? it seems easier to swap in a 3sgte for less money. and still make a lot of horsepower.
Sport1.3
10-11-2006, 03:14 PM
custom mounting a 3sgte, in addition to the cost of the motor and supporting mods to equal the stage 1-2 turbo kit would greatly out weigh the cost of just turboing the 1zz. a 3sgte would be cooler yes, but its not your straight swap like the later gen celicas unfortunetly. hell you should check out Hass too. they have some BAD ASS turbo 1zz and 2zz motors...most in MR2's but same motor.

thats 266whp for $4k...you would bearly get the 3s installed for that much let alone make that power to the wheels

Well this has turned into interesting debate.lol I copied & pasted form the newcelica site.
Heres the price breakdown:
The total price will be Labor and supplies + shipping, with a refundable core charge if you do not send me a header to port. If you send me a header there will be no core charge.
Labor and supplies:
GT Header:
$110
GTS Header:
$150
GTS or GT aftermarket header (DC, Hotshot, Trial etc) - Porting fees be the same or less than the cost of porting stock header
Shipping:
Depends on what you want - I will charge you exactly what UPS or FED-EX charges me for the type of shipping you want
Core charges:
The big benefit of the core system is that you can order a header and get the ported header ready to go without having to have your car out of comission for a week or more. The new header arrives fully ported and you send your old header "the core" back to me after it has been replaced. I am going to try and find some used manifolds of all styles so I can bring the core charges down, but on a lot of these I am going to have to buy new manifolds to get the ball rolling. As such you will be requred to pay a refundable core charge that is equal to my purchase cost for a new manifold. If you keep the manifold I send you and don't send me yours back I keep the core charge to replace the manifold. You are responsible to pay shipping on the core. The core must be returned within 2 weeks of receipt of the Ported manifold, or $40 / week will be deducted from the core refund for weeks after 2 weeks.
2000-Early 2003 GTS - $150
Feb 2003 - March 2003 GTS - $230 (no air injection but uses manifold with blockoffs)
April 2003 and newer GTS - $230 (has air injection system)
All years GT - $230
Follow the link below to a guide to help you determine which manifold you have. You will have to register to view it but its free to register so no worries:
http://www.newcelica.org/forums/showthread.php?t=205642
Additional Services:
Flowbenching -
$50 per header for numbers after porting.
$90 for before and after numbers on the same header.
$90 / Hour for flowbenching other components
Ceramic Coat for Header:
Ceramic coating is now available.
The price is $140 for Normal GT or GTS and $170 for air injection headers
It adds 2-4 weeks to the process
Manifold and donut Gaskets:
I will provide pricing on stock gaskets and will re-sell them at retail cost to save you a trip to the dealer if you want new gaskets
Port matching to a specific Gasket:
Add $10 to cost of manifold and Gasket
Payment and shipping information:
Will provide this information on or before March 1st when headers go up for sale.
Availability:
I intend to sell these on an "In Stock" basis whenever possible and I will not exceed more than 2 pre-orders for any one type of manifold I do not have in stock. Translation: At worst there will be one guy in line ahead of you for your particular manifold style.
Please note these are INITIAL PRICES. They will probably not go down, but they may increase if I find my costs have exceeded initial expectations. Thease increases will of course affect only sales I have not already agreed to a price on.
So there you go 00, this along with CAI,Good exhaust, suspension, weight reduction should get you pretty quick, for a GT l;) lol:D Depending on what type of power you're really wanting to achieve, MWR, Hass, ect have great turbo set-ups with proven results. :goodjob:
Now me, I''m going to do the 3sgte, no nitrus tho( the finacee's not a fan of the gas lol ) I have Sport20 to thank for the 3sgte idea, & I would still suggest you goto the NewCelica.org site. They have alot of companies that specialize in Celica parts, kits ect.....Vegeta
