the DAMN crx is fuckin up on me again...
everything turns on all electrical is fine. i hear the fuel pump. it just wont crank. im thinking its either the starter or the ignition column. anyone got any ideas?
thanks
could it be the dizzy? check out the ignition coil, rotor,etc... my old crx did the same thing and it turned out the coil was bad. just a suggestion

yeah, when the maint is not performed correctly (changing plugs ect) it causes more stress on the ignition system. it normally will just fry the coil but on occasion with also get the ign module, ignitor assembly as well.

could also be your main fuel relay....my old hatch had VERY vimilar symptoms....85 later it ran fine...just crapped out on the side of 85 went and get the relay and rolled out, lol. try that...look under your dash and turn your key over and tap it with a screwdriver or something...it could be a fried point and could try to fire then

^^ true, normally happens in the fall, winter, due to heat issues

heat related  sitting in sun inside temps go wayyyyyyyyyyyyy up.
to check them at a dealership: outside, in the sun, heater on, windows closed. the inside of the car gets way hot.

had the car four years. Replaced it twice so far.

honda's have shitty ignition switchs, the electrical portion that screws to the ignition lock cylinder. you say it won't crank not it won't start...first see if the starter signal wire gets hot when someone turns the key to the start position, that'll let you know the ign switch is good and the starter is bad, no power then the switch is bad.

But if the engine's turning over and just not firing up, I would think it would rule that one out, wouldn't it?

thats the problem....its not doing shit. if it would turn over at least that would rule out the ignition column, but it doesnt. everything electrical is fine just doesnt turn over
my friend was driving it and he found a bolt/screw on the floorboard that had come from somewhere(up under the dash)....and when i drove it 15 minutes earlier it wasnt there(on the floorboard)

If it doesn't even turn over, it'sprobably the starter.

on the starter you should have 1 small wire (approx 14 gauge) and one that comes from the battery.
on the small wire... get a test light, probe the wire while someone is attempting to crank the engine. if it lights up and no crank--- starter. if no light-- could be the switch, a ground issue, any number of things. at this point start back tracing the circuit.
g/l wiring issues can be a bitch
