At import showdown i made one pass, blowing the charge pipe. Then bee took the car to make a pass and he said it lost alot of power.
Getting it back to the pits we looked it over and low and behold my ground cable was missing and was sucked in by my turbo.
So i had already qualified,so i figured i would try to race any ways.My first person to race was Charles from Mainstream,he red lighted so i babied down the track.
2nd race i raced a Srt but the car didnt want to build any boost so i lost.
Boys and girls please run a filter this is the 2nd turbo i have screwed up this way.No biggie new parts where ordered already and car will be running with in a week.

at least run a piece of screen on there. foreign objects + turbos = bad juju.

LOL.

I run a screen over my turbo. With all the construction (rocks, dust, etc) in Atlanta, I may just throw on a K&N.

hopefully not into his engine... better check the oil for metal shavings... pulling a few spark plugs and looking down a the piston heads wouldnt be a bad idea either.

I dont think it made it in the engine.i took off the intercooler piping at the track and nothing was there. It would be too hard for metal to go thru the intercooler and make it in the engine.
We made a cople off passes after that happened and the car ran perfectly fine, when i got it home i drove it too gas station to put some gas also,so if it damaged the engine too late now to fix!!!

you should probably remove the intercooler and flush it out with water. The metal shavings are probably trapped in there. They will eventually make their way through it and into the engine. better safe than sorry.

by the way, you said the ground cable was missing... did you ever find it or did it get completely sucked into the turbo (it would have fit past the impeller from the looks of the damage) or did it fall out under the car...

Some of it did fall out, some of it was recovered inside my intercooler. The rest i have no clue what happened to it...may it RIP!!!

I would go with a filter.. the mesh is cool and will allow better flow, but dirt and dust can go through it that would not go through a filter... On the road.. just run a filter.. you can take it off at the track and run a screen.

prob better to use gas to flush it out with!! guess a little water wouldnt hurt but gas evaporates faster and wouldnt hurt at all if any stayed in there.. just would cost a little more
