Turbo Charging a 2 stroke engine. is it possible?

Im buying a vespa
i want to buy it 49cc.
That way i can drive without insurance or a liscense.
however on my way to work i have to go 45-55 miles per hour.
At the vespa dealership they said maximum speed for a 49 cc is about 40 mph.

So i guess the question i am asking is.......
Can i turbo charge my 49cc vespa?

If not is there a problem with driving full speed constantly on a vespa?

Can a 49cc really go 40 mph?

And then should i just upgrade and pay a ton more in insurance.

Turboing a vespa would not change the top speed. Top speed is forced by gearing so the only way to change the top speed is to change gearing.

there are vespa tuners out there that can make them cruise around at 75mph all day.... in fact I think they had a show about it on speed or spike or something... I just kept laughing though.... pimp my scooter FTW!

75 mph on a scooter sounds like an accident waiting to happen if you run over anything bigger than a golf ball. those are some tiny-ass wheels, man....

Can you turbocharge a 2-stroke? Probably, lol, but what would be the reason? I imagine you'd have to adjust the timing every time you ran that thing and I bet the power from the turbo would go into shaking the engine as much as adding any torque.

If you want a fast, small block engine on a bike then look at some euro spec aprillias. Those things haul ass.

you can't turbo charge a 2 stroke. The exhaust pulses and subsequent reflections are what help fill the cylinder. Any increase in back pressure will cause way too much exhaust reversion. 2 stroke marine diesels, which are non-self asperating, meaning they can't cant pull in air on their own, are supercharged, they have to be.

I dont know much about vespas, but I have a Yamaha Vino. They are now 4 stroke but if u get a used 2-stroke it can be made to do about 37 on flat ground and around 40-43 on slight downward incline by just derestricting the exhaust and removing a washer on the belt drive. In order to cruise around 50 mph you could invest in a 70cc kit, which would let u cruise around 50. In order to not have a liscence and insurance it has to be under 50cc and not exceed 30 mph.
