well we got Import Showdown tomrrow, so we have to come up with something FAST.

heres what we settled on:
240sx Rear End/Diff, welded of course lol

Spacer we had to weld to allow us to use the stock S2K driveshaft. Its Saturday so we cant get a Driveshaft made.

Adapter plate to make the S2K axles bolt to the new 240 housing

240 on a 2000?

let me know how it holds up..

do you plan on swapping it back to "factory" specs or keeping the fab work?

Seymour222
10-01-2006, 07:12 PM
It only made a few passes today. Didnt even have a chance to experience full boost. The rear diff mount shattered. Damn Aluminum.

Vteckidd

the STOCK honda diff mount broke, but the Diff held up fine.

low boost it ran 12.1s spinning, then it broke.

now need to fabricate that aluminum mount brace and it should be good to go. That sucks that one of the few Honda pieces left is what broke on the damn thing.

you guys should find a cobra IRS rear end and see if that will work better... Those seem to hold up ok under power.

most guys with cobras that are making the power that S2000 is swap to an 8.8 inch solid rear. They left the mounting tabs on the chassis for the 8.8in rear on the cobras with irs so that it would be an easy swap. The IRS cobra rears break too. That's why the new mustangs, even the Shelby GT500 are running a solid axle, because IRS was such a huge disapointment in the Cobra's

the 300zx xrear end is what most people swap too. Its stronger than a 9in ford rear

We have NEVER BROKEN a 240 diff or diff casing, YET, so we'll see how long it lasts

I didn't think about that.... Swapping to a solid axle on the S2000 would be pointless i guess... It would never handle right again... whats the highest HP andbody has ran through a 240 rear end? I've seen some 240's with SR20's wthat have over 600hp and My guess is that they are running the stock rear end.... you guys should put together a kit and sell it to people with s2000's who have problems with the stock rear end.

I believe Mazworx is running low 9s with 1,000HP in their 240. Who knows what rear end they're using though.

This should be able to hold any amount of torque that honda 2000 engine will make.

i'd be willing to bet the stock carrier/bearings/ring and pinion with an upgraded diff.

They are using a modified nissan rear end out of a non-turbo the last time I checked with Mark and they are running a 300z tranny set up. It has to maintain Nissan parts for them to stay in a street class.
