It doesn't have to go on your record, especially if you have a decent driving record and sometimes you don't even need that.

Go to court, and be prepared to pay the entire fine, ask to speak with the Solicitor/Prosecutor and ask if there's any way he can reduce it so it's not reported to your insurance. Sometimes they work with you if you're prepared to pay the fine.

My wife just got caught doing 23 over (68 in a 45) and she did the same thing and they reduced the charge, kept the fine amount the same, and didn't get reported to insurance or any points on her license. Oh, she also has a less than perfect driving history, lol. She was pulled over in Cobb County, $150 ticket.

The only thing you've got to lose is time.

Sorry to hear Brady... it sucks, I know all about this. I was doing 28 over on 400 and if it wasn't my first offense I would have paid $750, but the judge reduced to $350 including "junk charges".

Last year I got 86 in a 55 on a Sunday and 88 in a 55 on Tuesday. I contested them both (I figured I could plea them down). I ended up taking 0 points if I paid the fine on the first ticket and the second ticket was kicked because the officer failed to appear.

So, in short - go to court. If you haven't plead nolo in the past 5 years you can do that, for example. Or maybe the cop won't show.

My friend got a ticket for doin 105 in a 70 on 985. He went to court for it today and they said that since he was 21, they let him keep his license but he has 30 days to come up w/ $500. Today is his 21st birthday, so I dont know if they cut him a deal cause of that, or if it was just because he is now 21...either way, good luck man. I hate to hear about tickets.
