Wireless Router

Okay, I have a 802.11b Wireless router and 2 of our laptops are b/g compatable, But my daughter has my old laptop that has a external 802.11g wireless card, I thought "G's" were backward compatable and you could get them to work on a 802.11b wireless setup, How do I get her card to detect the B frequency? It doesnt see it when I try to get hers to connect.

Not all "G's" are backwards compatable...depends on the brand and model. I assume that you have already tested the wireless card in question on other networks, just to make sure that it works at all.

Well I know it works cause it did when I had a G router, but hen the G router went out I bought the B and now it doesnt see the network.

All Gs should be compatible, i thought it pas part of the standard, but make sure that the SSID is being displayed.
