Well, since i had my CRX ive really wanted to do a FULL build of a car. nothing to fancy, not really into the drag world right now, but im only 20 lol. i just want a reliable car that looks good from the floor pans up.

i really wanted to build my CRX, but i got such a good offer on it, i had to sell it. so after this guy was pretty serious into getting my lude, i started looking, and after driving 300 miles, and breaking a 06 f-150, i have my 1995 Acura GSR shell.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a108/beaugotti/IMG_0023.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a108/beaugotti/IMG_0057.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a108/beaugotti/IMG_0058.jpg

i mainly picked it up for the straight body, and the leather interior that is almost perfect. plus i got the full ac/ power steering, and all with the car.

here are my plans:
Strip the engine bay
Integra RS MC, and brake booster, also RS lines, thus eliminating ABS.
Do a full wire tuck for the motor + dash harness.
i want to shave the bay, but doubt ill have the patience for that.
repaint the car interior, bay, all jambs.
98+ bumpers

i have alot of work in store ahead of me. im also building a ls/vtec n/a for now to hold me off. i know its not boost, and its in a heavy ass chassi, but i just want something to say i built. and when my tax returns comes in im gonna look to boost.

anyway thoughts, comments, dicussion.

i got all the ac crap removed
rad. removed
all the powersteering

tomorrow i gotta get the dash out, all the ABS lines, and GSR MC and brake lines out, and cruise KunTrol

im also going to try and get most the interior stripped. and the body mouldings. might try and start on the shaving process to. hopefully i can get it in the garage tonight.

i put the interior in so i could make sure i painted enough and no red will show through, i think it looks good, debating on leaving it flat, or clearing it. not the cleanest job i couldnt get any dry ice and so there are alot of little chips and stuff from the factory sound deading. i might go get some undercoating or something and spray it, then spray white over that, i havnt decided. might just leave it like this so i can finish the car. gonna try and jamb it all tomorrow.

JDMBeau
10-18-2006, 06:25 PM
thanks bro, now its just cleaning everything up the way i want it, and get the motor finished, all i lack internally are bearings, valves springs and retainers, which i should have all together first of next week!

but unfourtunally since cold weather is here, today was probally the last day i could have painted the car, and it has been raining all weekend, so i didnt want to risk humidity. so ill probally end up laying down coat of like white primer just to get it all semi one color, and so i wont have to use as much white when i paint it next spring.

maybe first of the year it will be driveable with just paint to do.

boosted_nonv
10-18-2006, 06:28 PM
thats all understandable, I'll be boosted come, beginning of next year, so its all gravy

you can still paint it in the cold, just wait for a semi mild day. divide half of your garage with plastic and put heater(s) on the side you aren't spraying, close the garage door and let the temp and everything regulate for about a day or so to get the metal temp of the car about equal to the room. then for your fresh air fans have them pull the warm air from the other side of the garage into your makeshift spray booth, then exhuast everything outside....spray it, then crank of the heater(s) after you are done spraying with the garage door closed, let it get around 100 degrees in there and let it bake.

also you wanna use a faster reducer

JDMBeau
10-19-2006, 04:11 PM
ya i know all that, im acctually talk to the shop next to where i work about renting their booth, the shop owner is a good friend of my uncles, but im still kinda weary about using someone else space.

also i got a neighbor that has a heated air plane bay that said i could use it if i didnt mess it up. im not in any big hurry, kinda works out, so i can concentrate on getting the suspension and motor semi where i want it, and also the body (bumpers and CF parts) have a freash paint job this spring!

probally still gonna primer it white so its all one color.

SPOOLIN
10-19-2006, 05:13 PM
