You realize that Joe T is the starter he is hurt.

Stafford has been starting in his position and Stafford and Cox were really close on the depth chart.

And you bring up that Colorado wasn't ranked, but did you watch the game? They played extremely well. Their quarterback made great decisions and their defense is good.

joe t is hurt, which makes stafford the starter does it not? i mean he has started the last 2 games...

yes i watched the game, and you're right, they played extremely well, and they were UNRANKED. so what should that say about a team that is ranked in the top 10 and how well they should have played against such an unranked opponent?

I just laughed my ass off at this thread. Georgia overrated? Yeah right. I see another SEC championship caliber team easily. Hell look what they did to S.C. and people have stated during the offseason that SC was a contender- didn't lool like it to me. Look at last week- Michigan and Notre Dam- hmm Notre Dam got spanked. Upsets happen, teams fall apart but the championship claiber is the ones that don't give up. Georgia has young QB's right now that are still learning. Truthfully I can not stand Joe T- I think his "legacy" is what is making him look good because he isn't great by no means but he has a little more experience. Stafford and Cox, once they figure it all out, will do great. I think the only real hold up we may have this year is Auburn but they beat us last year and look who still ended up SEC champs. I see the same thing again this year.

JuicedCpe
09-23-2006, 04:16 PM
Another funny note- everyone goes by the rankings- look at them. All they are is votes from certain individuals- they really mean absolutely nothing. I mean Marshall Faulk, if i remember exactly won the heismann with an unranked team. They dominated that year and remained unranked. How can a team with a loss really be rated higher than teams with no losses? Also when was the last time an SEC team was actually ranked #1 and/or won a national championship and was actually praised in the media- don't say Auburn or LSU because they were pushed aside. Auburn had to "share" the championship with USC but USC got all the publicity and their schedule was not nearly as tough as Auburns that year. LSU got 15 minutes of fame and then no one even talked about them. I think the whole rankings is overrated and just another way for the schools and stations to rake in more money. When was the last time you say a smaller school with a tough schedule that did well get a good ranking- never because of the way they rank them and vote. Another example- look at all the different rankings- none of them are ever the same- all of them will usually be different with the exception of #1 and 2.

oh you know that do you? then you should also know we beat 2 out of the 3 opponents in the acc i listed last year, since you're all about living in the past and all.

see the thing is, being a tech fan i know damn well what kind of a football program we have, a 7-5 team that will go to a bowl game that we may or may not win. but see, the problem with just about every uga fans is that they're disillusioned and out of touch with reality. they think the "dawgs" are the shit every year and will win the sec and the national championship game every yr.

I believe that USC was ranked in 1 of the polls...and just because someone is unranked doesn't mean they aren't as quality of an opponent. Colorado and USC are better then UVA, Troy and who ever else you played.

1 of the polls? what the one you made up for this argument?
colorado and usc are better than uva and troy? where is your justification for that argument? troy has one of THE toughest schedules out there in 1a football (go ahead and look, i know you don't believe me) and they almost beat fsu in tally. whereas USC went down to the WIRE against FURMAN.

yeah but how big of a person are you for faulting someone for trying? shit last i checked tech still has a few national championships under their belt, the record for the most pts EVER scored in a college football game and arguably one of the best coaches ever (heisman). and hell even as an academic school, we still compete at a higher level than other schools of the same nature (most notably unc, wake, duke in our own conference) in not just football, but all sports.

btw, harvard is QUITE the football contender in their division (3 ivy league championships since '97, 11 all time).
