Found out I have a factory amp in my car today.
Last week when I was going thru the process of figuring everything out in my car, I was using a downloaded PDF technical service manual (all 9000 pages of it) for my car to see where everything was, what wires were what, ect..
Looking thru the manual, I have a six speaker system. 2 6x9's and 2 4" up front, 2 6x9's in the rear. No big deal. Looking at the manual, no amp. Guess my car dosen't come with the Boston Accoustics upgrade and amp. That makes it a hell of a lot easier to work with.
Well, I start taking everything out of the trunk to start taking measurements for what is going where ect.. I start taking pics so I can do a write up for the common man to see how I did it. Trim panels, floor board, ect. out. I look up at the 6x9 and WTF? Boston Accoustics? Huh?
So I go back inside. Pull up the PDF again. Increase it to 200 %.
"Except SRT" in small ass print. :eek:
150 pages later, I found out I have a 285W amp under the freaking dash. Not too much off a problem, it just means a lot more work than I planned on doing. Reading the pin outs for the amp and radio, looks like its going to be a pain in the ass.
