R32s are nice, but slow. Too bad it costs $40k to make it something worth racing. Whoever spends that money is a dumb shit.

good find though.

not really the kit only cost in the range of about 8-10k then a few bit more in install fee's. then probably not more than 5-7k in the rest of the mods.

The engine is the onyl really pricey part!

in the article it says power, suspension, brakes, and body kit ~ $38k

suspension, brakes, and body kit ~ 8k at most

power ~ 30k (which is about the same as the HPA TT package for the mk4 R32.

doesn't surprise me

I like how the braking sucks more on the modified one!

hot car but not work 65-70k not worth it... any reputable shop can get you over 500whp w/ a built boosted motor + standalone for alot cheaper :goodjob:

So a cobalt is talking about 111 ft and 114 ft as sucks when the 2005 cobalt SS is a 113 as tested by Motor Trend? The Heated tires of more rapid excelleration are probably to blame for the difference in lengths btw. Anything under 120 ft is considered good braking.

^^ WTF

:Edited because drama is ghey......... :

But to not get in any kind of pissing match, I only thought that the bigger brakes used on the HPA R32 would enable it to stop faster! After reading the article closer I believe it just said it had upgraded pads, which in turn, would put your theory as true! I still believe however, more power should warrant better control in all aspects, braking, suspension, and all around stability!

P.S- Why even care to compare a cobalt to a VW or Audi alike...

The R32 is an incredible track car.... even out of the box. Also a 14.4 out of the box 1/4 mile is much faster than 95% of the cars on this board when they were stock.

The S2000 is a good example. Horrible drag car but great on a track with turns. The R32 will handle as good as any Jap car remotely cloise to it's price point.

I am not startin drama, Thats not it at all, and internet never allows tone to get across, so you couldnt tell I wasnt beatin on you.
I agree w/ you that I'd expect greater braking after mods than prior, but its hard to make really good brakes great, Thats all. OEM they are really good.

good times ... 40k for a performance package is still too much.
