I can't believe I read 12 pages of this.. it was interesting none the less and very educational.. funny how the thread starts as one thing and ends up as another..

but reading this, makes me not want to buy products from NOPI nor "rep" nopi..

the only time like Pablo, Paul, etc said that the word NOPI was used is once a year or like in most cases the word will come up when someone is selling a shitty nopi intake/exhaust/sway bar in the cars for sale or car parts forum..



on to george, I've met you a few times, seemed "non chalant" to want to talk to me, but I didn't get offended, but like I've said to many members of this forum, if I had a decent enough camera, I'd take some good ass pics too and post them up, I actually have a few "note worthy" photos but its not my thing to post.. I thrive on DRAMA.. but I feel that when you post pics of your photoshoots and what not and people comment on them and are like "great shoots" etc, it kinda does fuel the fire for you to be like damn I'm good yadda yadda.. Its great that a local guy is getting a piece of the national attention, not hating! I've posted a few times in your photo threads.. so I'm not trying to contradict myself..

but this is no way to hate on you whatsoever, you have talent, but if everyone had the same medium and platform you'd have there would be 100's of photographers on IA that would have some bad ass pics.. and some photography comes with experience and LUCK, some shots are caught in a blink of an eye and some are there to capture that.. as for me I'll stick with my discounted $50 olympus camera that has like 3 megapixels :no: .. but I do have access to a nikon that you use, but only when I'm west coasting..

its your passion and it helps you establish yourself and business for further endeavors.. but I as with many others have other passions other than to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on cameras and equipment, but like I said, its what gives you conviction and its more than a hobby..

When did we meet bro? I honestly hate when I cant remember someone that walks up to me. I have a shitty memory sometimes especially when Im concentrating on something else. Im glad you didnt take it personal though man. Good equipment does help anyone take better shots. I was having that discussion this morning with someone. I dont take comments from people that say "good shots" as inflating my head or ego , I take them as compliments and acknowledgement that im doing something right. It is what they are though right? I mean, I have tons of photos Id like to share, but people would think Im just whoring my shit out to either get exposure or just to show off or something. Thats not what I want, and thats why I usually dont post anything unless its an event I cover, because I know a lot of people dont get to go to all of them. I never once said I was better than anyone else, nor did I ever say Im "king shit" of photography like someone else said. A lot of those comments stem from how they percieve things, and I cant control that. I do my own thing and if people like my style they hire me, if they dont they move on. Weddings is where the money is at for me right now, and Ive had many satisfied clients, one of them being a long time member on here. Im proud of the work I do, and the quality I reproduce. If Joe Schmo could reproduce my shots, then by all means go ahead and make some money. But people say that shit just to get under your skin, and I simply laugh at it. If people could copy someone elses style without making it obvious we'd all have a bunch of clone photographers and identical pictures floating around. Its stupid and just plain ignorant to think that way. I have my own style just like other photographers have their own style. Some are more successful in their niche market they go into. I love shooting Formula D events and have been approached by some "important" people about some gigs next season. Photography started as a hobby for me 5 years ago, and recently its starting to turn into a profession. I could care less what that kid JimmyB or Pablo thinks of my work, because in the end they arent paying my bills. Its the people that thank me for providing them memories of their events that will last a lifetime and photos that will endure the test of time. That is all I do. I started with a 80 dollar Samsung camera I won at a computer show, so hey we all start somewhere huh? Im only 23 and by the time Im 30 im sure ill be coming back on here maybe and laughing at all the haters and how I prove them wrong :-)

Well you can think of style as the definition term of how you are shooting. Either it be portrait, candid (photojournalistic), black and white, hand tinted, etc etc. Or you can look at it this way. I think style is more of a personal signature on the photograph you take. Such as, when I see a photo, I say to myself, wow that looks like something Ansel Adams would have taken, or something of that sort ;)

I was un aware that there were such bad feelings from IA staff and their members about NOPI. I just try and put on good events. I hope that everyone that comes to the events has a good time. I know you can't please everyone and coming or not to a NOPI event is your choice. It doesn't matter to me if you do not come to my events. It's definately not for everyone and I've never said it was. For those who did come and had agood time...Great! For those who didn't come...Have a nice day. We will be doing it agian next year so maybe we'll see you then.

As previously stated in this thread HAD nothing to do w/ IA staff... the photographer posting was there under another company. Glen and his wife then get on here and start shit about IA staff and the board. I find it very unprofessional for them to come to my place and disrespect us. It would be like me going to your corporate location and doing the same. Glen/Wife have a problem w/ the photographer thats fine... we allow him to post on here just as we allow you guys. But bringing us into the mix is just childish and lame.

This isn't the 1st time Glen/wife have started shit w/ the IA staff... his wife got on here accusing us of stealing cars in atlanta and Glen got in my face at HIN like he was some big shot after running is mouth publicly to tons of local industry people. If that is the type of people you want respresenting you then you can't question the backlash your company gets from such actions. You may want to keep a short leash on your employees/reps because you may find your self in legal issues.

Thanks by the way I never heard back from you in July when I left you email/VM I'm guessing you did not have any intentions on working with us on NOPI Nat/Tunerfest. I do appreciate you guys deleting my post about our event yet posting about NOPI on our site.

Well business these days works on the word of mouth system and as long as bad sayings are coming out of his employees mouths just imagine some of the things being said about they're company. Hey this is Mark Meyers....

I was un aware that there were such bad feelings from IA staff and their members about NOPI. I just try and put on good events. I hope that everyone that comes to the events has a good time. I know you can't please everyone and coming or not to a NOPI event is your choice. It doesn't matter to me if you do not come to my events. It's definately not for everyone and I've never said it was. For those who did come and had agood time...Great! For those who didn't come...Have a nice day. We will be doing it agian next year so maybe we'll see you then.


Mark, We do not have issue with ( IA staff ) with NOPI. Just some of your employees. Im sure you read this thread and notice that.
I have been Been going to your event ( Nopi Nats ) since 96 @ lakewood....
Shit, I didnt even lived in GA, But while visiting.. I went to this event.
So, I do not have issues with you.. Now the employees you guys hire are terrible.. for the most part. I bought parts from Nopi up until 2001 from Joe and Barry at the Sneville store.. they were actually pretty cool. But after a few idiots came to that store and threated you like shit, I said fuck it.
Also, some of the people that you guys have working at the events are also assholes for the most part.
I have never had an issue with the NOPI NATS, I think is a great event. Especially if you know how to network.
I did not attend this year. BUt I did last year as a spectator and also 04. I I showed at the NATS from 98 until 2003.. always had fun.
So as you can see, we do not have a problem with your or your company...
I would consider that support in a way.
Will I attend again, I dont know. So I hope that explains it.

Mainly, just keep your comments to yourself, whether you like it or not, NOPI DEPENDS on alot of these people, especially the NDRA. NOPI PARTS has been on the decline for a long time now. They just dont have anyone that wants to go out an get aggressive anymore. they still push products that are 5 years outdated. they are WAY behind the times.

NDRA is cool but your going to piss off racers that have the money to go to NHRA. So, i suggest you take a step back an think about what you do an say. Cause they leave, your out of a job. start losing money an NDRA gets shutdown just like Smyrna ;)

Even this years nationals i was dissapointed to see the big vendors not there or not there like they are used to. Skunk2 was nonexistant, AEM was downgraded to a much smaller booth this year, there seemed to be a shit ton of tire an audio companies, but the GO FAST vendors just werent really there at all.

But hey, NOPI thinks they got it all figured out, make your 20% markup and the world will be fine right? :)
