Did not see a section for burnout.

But here is my burnout(fiance was following me). The crowd that I'm close to was filming me also since that is why I was burning out. So I did a short burnout. If you guys were in the GM Section a Cavalier and I were the ONLY ones to go over half way down the main stretch in that parking lot burning out.

I did four in the section.

Rigghhtt...man ricer has been out of style for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time.

Think its funny...a boosted civic tried to burnout leaving Saturday night and couldn't even get the tires to turn over more than once. Funny all that trouble and only thing he got was a cop telling him to knock it off since he was out of the infield. But think that was mostly driver...if a STOCK civic can do a tiny one wheel burnout surely a boosted one can. :screwy:

So you burned out because someone had a video camera? Wonderful. Also standing burnouts are better.

Awesome comments guys! Keep them coming.

Oh yeah...burning out with tires that are cheap and sucky would of been better...but what's that old saying don't cheap out on your tires or brakes.

I love it...first burnout day I ever do and this happens...LOTS of laughing for me. Thanks!!

And the person who says 'takes skill' comment. Well apparently that Civic driver was doing something wrong to not even get a burnout. But hey I rather burn out in a RWD. Because yeah standing still is a LOT better than having the torque drag your car down. I get enough of that just warming up the drag radials at the track. Which is why you guys saw the first and only burnout this car is going to do(unless you go to the track I drag at).

So whoever thinks FWD burnouts rock...which I'm just happy with mine because its my car. Just wait until you slide a few doughnuts in a RWD under your belt. :goodjob: 1/4 mile burnout > 50 yard burnout. You guys see that Camaro do the burnout down the drag strip thats floating around the internet...its a red late 90s model.

if you wanted to do burnouts then you should've entered the burnout competition. doing that shit just because a camera is around is just plain stupid. do you not have the capacity to think for yourself or were you on the "liquid courage"?

Didnt even watch the Video, just read the thread and realized your an idiot!
I dont find anything cool about a burnout, I can sit there in third gear(Th400) and do one as as long as the tires hold, or I can do one all the way down the track....Why.....I have know Idea why I would, just not cool!

Why do it at the V? I personally think its funny when people get pissed at others for doing burnouts and posting about it. IT'S NOT YOUR TIRES!! Quit your bitching. :D

If I decide to burn my tires...so be it. If I get in trouble by the cops...I get in trouble. I take responsibility for my actions...if I hit anyones car(which I didn't) I would pay for the damage. I'll be a man about it.

Torque? What torque?

Why do you need drag radials for a car that still traps double digit speeds?

Wow......typed thoughts of a very SELFISH ricer.

Its not about YOUR tires, its not about YOU getting in trouble with the COPS, its not about YOU hitting someone elses car (which in case , i'd hope you'd take your ass beating like a man and then pay for the property damage). Its about you fucking it up for EVERYONE at a public gathering. Wannabe cool and burn tires off? Go to a road or parking lot far away and do it..and if it gets your rocks off for peopel to comment about it...take pics and post them.

Yeah, the cops probably didnt bother you at NOPI because they might have been smart and been looking for even more stupid people.... but dont bank on that luck all the time.

Oh and, it's not "IT'S NOT YOUR TIRES", its "They are not your tires" or "They aren't your tires."

Ill admit, i used to have that mentality but its something we all go through as "tuners" or having a somewhat fast car but im passed that stage, burning out gettin sideways and all that bullshit just comes along the lines of having a fast car but sooner or later you'll learn, maybe the hard way maybe you just mature a little bit but if he does a burnout and gets caught hes going to be held responsible and liable...

i don't see why everyone cares so much and say its the "ricer" thing to do, that word was so 1998, I could remember a time when burnouts at meets was "the cool thing to do" and people would surround the car in OHHHH and AWWWW...i just dont understand why people give a rats ass, burnouts at a car meet happens all the time ricer or not

If you think I should grow up for burning my tires for a little fun which DID NOT shut down the event...OMFG! Maybe you should read what your typing. I'm just seeing text which just goes over my head.

First time I've ever burned out...you know what WE ALL go through stages. So either deal with it or go back to jacking off to your porn because honestly I do not give a shit...which I've repeated myself SEVERAL times, but enough is enough. So time for you guys to grow up. I got my little burnout over with its pass me and I get to watch every other person burn out. First time for everything...you guys let things get to you easily. So yeah at a meet you won't be able to see me because I park my car lock it and just hang out. NOPI is NOPI you should actually EXPECT that. Meets elsewhere...yeah your on your own. I don't agree with a lot of meets because of the underage drinkers and pot smokers. Turning tires is the least of my worries.

For all the years ive ever gone to nopi i must of seen at least 20 burnouts and the first year that i went to nopi when nopi was a real show, and people were just in it for the fun. atleast 100 cars in the parking lot were burning out and the show went on.

Being in the nopi atmosphere i can understand why people burnout, people are just gettin wild and crazy, if you dont like burnout or want to see burnouts and have personal issues with people burning out, than ignore it and move on or just dont go, no need to bash the man for burning out.

You know what, I dont care, go act like an idiot in a car(thats directed towards the ones that do it, not pointed straight at you, but if you are one of them..... then its pointed at you as well) and piss everyone off because the meets cant be held in the certain spot where it was cool to meet before. Hahahaha.. you kids are soo funny!

I for sure, never said burnouts would shut down NOPI, but see, we here in atlanta have gatherings on a regular basis..or at least TRY to. I dont know is anything goes on over in the sticks. Here, try this, get a bunch of your friends together in a parkling lot or wherever..and chill..then start doing your burnouts all you want...then stick around to see how logn it takes for the cops to show up and either a) kick you out b) give you a ticket for wreckless driving or c) go to jail for the arementioned offence... or a combination of any of the above. Thats how it is. Or do this.... go up to Barrett or BP and try doing it....see what happens ;)

But if it simply comes down to you likeing to spin your cuet little steelies, go somewhere no one is around..like i said before.... dont do it around a bunch of people who would rather you end up liek this guy for showing off at a meet...

I'm in douglasville most of my time every blue moon I'm down at Summit Racing. Never really go to ATL. Never been to a meet past Douglasville in my life. So I wasn't the one at the V.

If you are going to be doing it for shits and giggles then yeah. If you take it personal...go find a 16 year old who takes racing all serious. But I don't know GA all that well like meets, etc. I know someone in Fayetteville other than that thats as close to ATL.

I don't agree with a lot of meets because of the underage drinkers and pot smokers. Turning tires is the least of my worries.

Yes, me and all my friends get drunk and high in the parking lots at the meets. Every damn one we go to, am I missing why this is wrong? [/sarcasm]

Sorry didn't see your post with all the bandwagon posters.

I'm in douglasville most of my time every blue moon I'm down at Summit Racing. Never really go to ATL. Never been to a meet past Douglasville in my life. So I wasn't the one at the V.

-eats popcorn- People are so hypocritical.

If burning out is immature as you guy say. There's a whole list and everyone has done at least one or two. EVERYONE has...fact of life. You either stop doing it and move on or do it the rest of your life. Let's see one burnout...didn't like it...it was fun, but there's other things that I like more. Like autox. Nopi was the first time I really had a taste of it. Even though it was a circle with a few turns...gave everyone a sense of autox. And I love it. I don't get why everyone is so bent over a burnout. Should know by now its NOT going to stop...yeah maybe I stopped...but there are others who will do it.

I dont recall seeing where we all proclaimed we never did it... but, a lot of us learned burnout + crowd = pissed people and police. Yes, i did it ONCE.... and never did it again. But...yes, people will do it.. and majority of the people around get pissed.

Hell.. i have a nice big pic in my sig of me burning ut... but where it was perfectly legal and wanted

I'm still trying to figure out how to do an actual burnout and create smoke from the tires on my Lancer... everytime I try, the car just launches forward... and we all know that's no where near as fun as smoking tires... -.-

Just take one of the drive shafts out....preferbly(spl) the rear one, that way you have some torque steer, and would look cooler while doing it!

pull the ebrake?

Someone said if I pull the e-brake and launch, it'll send me into a F&F-drift... and I'm not ready for that type of skills yet... I just wanna smoke my tires instead of launching, its way cooler.

OK I've been saying I'm done with it, because I really find no point in it other than warming up tires at a drag strip. I wanted to see...I saw and was disappointed. OMG I made smoke....ooooo YO FOO that shit is off the hook yo! O_o.

Yeah maybe I should've done it somewhere else, did it at NOPI. Mistake cost me a couple hundred miles in tire. For what...cheers? Sorry not really enough of a rush to get the juices going.

To the civic driver...you probably know what you have and how to drive it. This kid looked 16 and driving someone's elses work car. But I'm those who finds more pride in doing it theirself. And thumbs up for the powertrain mods.

Your best post yet! Nopi, is gay so I dont care if you did it there, just like what was stated already "Its not gonna close it down" but try not to do it at these smaller parking lot events/meets, cause it really can screw it up for the rest of us....you know? There is a reason to do it at the track, and if you wanna do it away from the public the get out there and tear it up.....shoot I do that, when no one is around!

Just be smart for all of us!

Yeah I love the ECO, yet I wanted to turbo it but with a 10:1 ratio. For now I'll stick with nitrous. I'm already fully bolted so that's out of question...still have yet to find any pulleys. Found some for the 2200 but not the ECO. Very impressed by your numbers...what kind of shot are you running?

Ehhh, I ran a 100shot on stock internals for shits and giggles. Everyone said the 220 couldn't take it but whatever. I have a spare one sitting here we got out of a wrecked 4dr. I'm saving to buy Hptuners so I can finally run the 75 and 100 when needed and not have to worry about blowing a piston. I have the rods and new pistons in the spare motor already but I'm waiting on a valvetrain option to run higher rpms since you can edit those variables in Hpt. :goodjob:

Cool...I am actually shocked there's aftermarket parts for the head for these cars(ECO). Then again it was introduced by Saturn back in 2000.

I had the 2200 in my S10 and it sucked(engine wise I mean I had problems from the 2200). The one in my Cavalier(not my Cobalt) is decent...other than being picky.
