I would love to fix this car up but I don't have time for it that why I am selling it so cheap it is a great project car and just gave it an oil change. You hardly ever see anyone with a mk2 GTI and a 1.8t motor swap is best suggested the engine that is in it right needs some work it only has 150k on it so it can run good given some tlc. I am letting the car go for 600$ obo the lowest I will go is 550$ The only bads are you need to fix the timing and the oil leak

Silva, you must have asked about it back when my friend had it. Kaizen hasn't had it that long. In fact, I took the pictures that he posted.

It's a fun little car though. It lived at my house for quite some time, and I knew it pretty well. Would make a great base for an SCCA road racer or something, but it needs a good bit of work, unless Kaizen has done some wrenching already. Good luck selling. :goodjob:

I have a 1.8L 8V Cabby and will say these motors are a breeze to work on. I did the timing belt by myself with hand tools and a Haynes manual in under 4 hrs.

I WAS CHEATED!!
I drive 400 miles to get this car and its a total peace of shit. Nothing like the picture. The Factory GTI wheels where replaced with these shity WARPED steelies that didn't even fit on the car, FAR more rust than what he told me, the side moldings had ben ripped off, the seats where torn.
The car was fucking filthy, even tho he said he would clean it up for me the day before, looked like it hadn't been washed in months.
I'd driven all day to get this thing and i didn't want to go home empty handed, and the whole time the guy is trying to take off on me, rushing me and giving me some bullshit story about his mom getting avickted. we push the thing on the tow dolly that i had, he ashured me it had great tires on it and that it could make the 400mile trip home. as soon as we started pushing the fucking wheels started wobeling. WTF!! He swore up and down there was nothing wrong with them when they where clearly shaking horribly. I'm only 19 and 400 miles from home and i was all by myself, so if i had a problem on the road i was screwed. I wanted to call the deal off and wanted my moeny back, he was practaly in his car about to take off, he swore and promised if i had any problems he would come and get me and the car. I didn't want it, there was no way it would make it, but i was tired and didn't think i would make it in a fight with this black dude. so i said i would try, he PEELED out and took off, leaving me there with this shitty car. So i try and tow it, i make it about 300 feet and the wheel starts slapping the wheel well, about to come off. so i pull over and call the guy and tell him that its just not gunna work, i can't even tak it home. He tells me the he can't come, that he's on the other side of town. HE LEFT 5min AGO!! he told me the money was already spent and it was my problem now, even after he swore and promised he would help me out. So here i am with a car i can't pull and out 300 bux for a shitty car, all the gas it took to get there, and the trailor rental. Plus a whole day of my life wasted. So they only thing i could do was drag it back to his house and leave it in his drive way. I GOT HIS NEIGHBORS TO HELP PUSH IT OFF THE TRAILOR

This guy robbed and cheated me, if i hadn't been thinking clearly at the time i would have called the cops.

I still have the title, (which i never sighned) he can send MY money back and i'll send him the title.
