School zone speed limits... Do you do it?

Ok, so everyday on the way to work I go thru about 3 school zones, I usually catch at least 2, sometimes all 3, during the yellow flashing 25 mph period. I always slow down to 25mph.. I see too many speed traps set up in school zones to be that dumb, plus I am not that dumb period, lol...

Well this morning a lady I guess didnt want to obey the posted 25 mph zone so she got on my ass hard, I mean she got soo close I even brake checked her (not to mean.. jsut a tap) but she was sooo close that she nose dived when she had to put on her brakes. Now I am not a granny driver but I do obey the 25mph in a school zone, thats a serious ticket!

I always see people fly by thru school zones definately not doing 25, maybe even more like 50-55... So I got to thinking? What do you do in a school zone when the yellow falshing lights are flashing and the speed limit is 25 and there is no obvious speed trap set up?

Honestly? I try to follow the posted zone limits. So if I pay attention, then yeah. but I'm not above going around a bus, a stopped one with the stop sign out and the lights flashing. Cautiously though.

While I agree, I did get tagged one time. The school zone time was around 3:45 when it goes to 25mph, but I thought it was around 3 and there were no lights indicating it was a 25mph zone. Normal speed is 45mph zone. I was going 50. 5 over normal posted. But I then got tagged for 25 over doh!

I know.. The lady this morning, I could see her getting all huffy.. and I was acutally pushing doing about 30 cuase she was all up on me.. And we were both turning up ahead, but I could see her starting to look to see if she had enough time to get around me.. I am a really patient driver, esp in the mornings, lol.. and impatient drivers piss me off. They are usually the one that cause accidents, lol.. and stupid drivers, lol

Yeah thats what this lady was doing this morning.. Except no kids, lol.. But it happens every morning someone gets on my ass cause I am doing the 25 and they choose not to..

I got a 62 in a 35 school zone at 1am and that cost me about 650 bucks so yeah I dont speed at all anymore near schools.

I go the speed limit while the kids are gettin out of school, but when they are not and those stupid lights are flashing around the sign while I know that no one is there I dont go the school speed limit. There is like 800 schools around me it gets annoying sometimes, however I wouldn't want to hurt anyone so its cool ill go the speed limit.

i said obey, and i usually do. sept one time i woke up it was 2pm, went to bank was goin 40 in what i found out to be a 20 school zone. next to a high school. with no flashing light, it was bullshit, and cost me 200 bucks.

I obey the school zone speed limit cus if they catch you here, you're gonna get fucked good :idb:. Certain zones here are traps cus they include a little forest area too.

You are doing the right thing heather. Even us when we are driving lights/siren has to obey the speed limit when passing the school zone. It's a serious offense just as bad as not stopping when the school busy says stop.
