How much do you have to spend on rigging cas I will come do it for cheap :goodjob: I need to make a lil bit of profit plus gas which would have to be $20-50 depending on your situation... hit me up on a PM...but I wont be able to come do it til the 23rd...unless you are good with a 12:30 am house call...

Have you guys disconnected the power from the cable modem and plugged your computer back in? When you hook directly to the cable modem, they register that device to their network. So if you plug in another device, that is the exact symptoms you'll get. Once you power cycle the cable modem you should be able to grab an IP.
Then of course, if it doesn't you got other issues.

I'd just buy a cheap router and hook both pc's to that. You may have to call comcast again to register the mac of the router to your modem. Or you can spoof the mac of your moms' pc in the router.

Hook all cables up properly.
Shut down PC
Unplug Modem, two min
Power up Modem, let it cycle up all the way
Power up pc
Try repairing connection if it still doesnt work at this point.
Once u try that, and it doesnt work, u have problems else where.
Is DHCP enabled on your machine?

Rep: towards the top right of the individual post u will see a small little icon, looks like a old fasioned scale of some sort. Click that, then check the box for "approve" or "dissaprove", they are positive points and negative points respectivly.
DHCP:
( >> = Click )
>> Start
>> Control Panel
>> Network and INternet Connections
>> Network Connections
>> Local Area Connection (the one thats enabled / NO red "x" over the icon, if you have more than one)
>> Support Tab
At the support tab you will see "Address Type:" next to that it should say "Assigned by DHCP"
If it says "Private IP Address" then let me know. If it says DHCP, then click repair and try agian. If still no luck, let me know. And ill make somthing up for you to try next :D lol
