as the title says... i've got a 55 gallon tank... what type of fish should i throw in it???

i've got a salt water set up if i want ot go that route, but my dad had one and it was nothing but hassle for him.

i think i'm gonna stick with freshies for now.. so what are some bad fish.. mildly aggressive. i want to buy them as babies and watch them grow..

i like most cichlids.. but i'm looking for something with more color. let me know what u think. or what u have if u've got anything!

Cichlids are about the most colorful fish in the freshwater realm. Trouble is, is that you can't get anything but that species, for the most part. Here is a list of my fish:

3 Blue Gourami
4 flame serpai
2 Tiger barbs
2 Green terrors
3 Great Danios
2 Bumblebee catfish
1 Chocolate suckerfish

Treied to get different variety and color in the tank. Later, QD.

cool man thanks. do those fish feed on other fish, or do they eat just flakes.. that's my favorite part is watching them eat. it's crazy. had two huge oscars once.. and a dempsey. (thought the oscars were bigger.. that dempsey was mean!)

My fish, most of them, are semi-aggressive. They don't mess with each other, though. And I've had the same fush in this tank and set-up since February. Haven't lost one. I also have NEVER hand-cleaned my tank. The chocolate and bumblebee cats keep it looking clean as hail. Later, QD.

Some can get to about 6inches. But most will max out at 4". Later, QD.

do saltwater i have two tanks, they are actually easy if you pay attention to them, honestly the fish are expensive and if you wanna do reef it is very expensive but if you space everything out and do it slow like you are suppose to it is way worth it in the long run, freashwater to me is just boring, if you need any tips on anything feel free to ask

fresh water can be just as good it think.. not quite as many colors, but still plenty. my dad know's plenty about fish, and how to keep a tank.. he would have his water tested and all that junk yet no matter what fish he put in it died. i'm not gonna spend 100 on a fish for it to die...

saw some awsome looking discuss yesterday. i would love to have them, but they are 1000 for the large ones. and somewhere between 60-100 for the small onces...

also thinkin about an electric blue dempsey but they are like barely an inch and still cost 30.. and the larger ones are like 90

i did buy two small african cichlids from walmart tonight... just to see how they'll do... not sure specific species.. one's orange couple white spots on its bottom fin.. the other is a light electron blue with black stripes. an inch and a half to two inches tops. all alone in a fifty five gallon tank lol.... i need some rock and logs.
