To whomever put an American Flag on my mailbox this morning........
THANK YOU. :goodjob:
Someone took the time and effort to go down the entire length of my street, a little over 1 mile from end to end, and placed American flags on each and every mailbox this morning obviously to commemorate the 5 yr anniversary of 9/11.
Everyone should take a sec of their day to remember that 5 yrs ago a lot of innocent victims died at the hands of sick people. The ripple effect will never stop because not only did thousands of families get touched directly, but everyone else that was around on that day will never forget it.
8:46 a.m. and 9:02 a.m.
56 minutes and 102 minutes
2,819 people died in 12 seconds.
Remember that.

that is truely touching.. driving into work i heard a wonderful 14 minute tribute this morning.. then passed a chuch which had arranged flags.. its amazing to see our country pull together and a day like today.. it brings tears to my eyes.. i shouldnt have worn mascara today!
if anyone lives in or around kennesaw.. there is a group called Kiwians (sp?) that set up flags for the amount of people who passed away that day.. its a remarkable display.. worth the drive if you live a bit futher out.. makes for some outstanding pictures..

driving into work i heard a wonderful 14 minute tribute this morning.. ..
I heard it too.
True story:
I don't normally drive the wife's car. This morning, I was taking my daughter to school and was running late, so I just jumped in her car since it was already out of the garage. Wife always leaves crap on in the car when she turns it off. I hate that. This morning, she'd left the radio on. Just as we get in the car, that tribute was starting.
My daughter, who usually talks and talks and talks, sat silent.
We get to the end of the driveway, there was that flag.
We drive down the road, flags everywhere. All the while in the background we are listening to that tribute montage. Some parts were scary, some parts made you angry, some parts made you extremely sad.
My daughter just reached over and held my hand. We held hands, didn't say a word, all the way to her school. She is 12. When the montage was over, she just uttered, "WOW!". That was it. Wow. Nothing else needed to be said.
True story.

^^ Yeah a day like today just makes everyone aware of how important the ones we love are, and how fast they can be taken from us, and the fact that they are plotting to do this again.

I heard there was a guy this morning on I-75 out near Marietta doing the same thing.
