Well, the right way to do it is to remove the head, install everything, put clay on the tops of the pistons, bolt the head on, put the timing belt on, and slowly turn the engine over. Remove head, check your Valve-to-piston clearance....and BE CERTAIN that you are in the clear. Why risk trashing your expensive ass engine build by he-said she-said. Do it the right way.

BTW, VTEC KILLER cams were only made for a certain class of Japanese circuit racing where VTEC used to not be allowed. They really were not made for any other reason. There really is not any advantage to running them. I would rather have vtec cams..... especially on a street driven engine. JFYI ;)

It's an extra hour of work to be certain your motor will not have any issues. If it doesn't clear, you will be glad in the end that you didn't destroy your whole motor at 8000+ rpms. :goodjob:

once again, there are MUCH better options that what you are buying.

Morelian you have had TONS of problems with that motor, you need to step back, re-evaluate, and spend money wisely.

TODA head packages will run you $2000.

YOu can make MORE Power wit h$2000 with other products that are PROVEN. VTEC Killers are for road racing cars, that dont care about bottom end power. They are for high revving , high compression 7000rpm+ RPM powerband motors.

THEY ARE NOT FOR STREET CARS.

Instead of wasting money again, do it right the first time.

Buy some PRO1 Skunk2 cams, from a REPUTABLE DEALER
buy some PRO Series Skunk2 Valvesprings an Ret
Buy a GOOD Header (rmf,Rage, SMSP)

YOu have never made over 17xish whp on our dyno from what i remember. Sticky made 178whp with a STOCK GSR with bolt ons (ITR cams, Hytech header) stock GSR 10:1 compression.

you have an ITR with CTR Pistons, i would run PRO1s. forget the Toda crap. Its nice stuff, but not for a street car.

If you know how VTEC Killers work you would know that it will not be in your best interest. If you really want Vtec killers, buy the Phantom Grip ROcker Arms that elimnate the ROcker Pad Vtec lobe and there ya go.

oh and FYI THere was a guy i was friends with named LEN. He had an ITR with CTR Pistons, Toda ITBs, TODA Vtec Killers, Toda valves, springs, ret, and much more. Toda everything.

the most he got out of it i think was 207whp. He had HOndata, AEM, switched ecus i beleive, and he could rarely squeeze more power out of it.

He works at Baranco, if you ask him, he will tell you the only thing he liked were the ITBs, everything else he hated.

are you sure about that? I bought a intake manifold gasket from him not too long ago and he said he loved it, taking on turbo cars on the highway was his highlight.

basically, do what you want to do, its called test and tune. Since you already have the parts mind as well test them out. If you don't like it then take them back out. But I will admit, vtec killer cams make power at high rpms so yeh there are better packages out there for 2k.
