its illegal to have them technically but it really depends on where you are as to how heavily its enforced.

Do you see anywhere on the box. "off road use only" if so probably not. I have 12000k(violet/purple) hid in my civic for over a year and never got pulled over i live in the metro Atlanta area.

OEM HID's in the Mercedes, Lexus, and others look kinda blue. I wonder how they get away with it?

you could just tell the cop they came out of a Lexus or something and those are Legal. see what he says. :2cents:

Yeah I had 3000k yellow HID's and i got pulled over 3 times. Never got a ticket tho. They just told me that the lights were a distraction and shit. I live in cobb and every one knows what that stands for. Count-On-Being-Busted.

Yeah I just got a ticket for my yellow bulbs also in a little small as county in middle GA! I haven't got pulled over in Atlanta yet for them {crosses fingers}. I would just be careful where you drive and you shouldn't have to worry about anything.

Guys by law 4300k is the max, that is what all OEM cars have, Lexus, Benz, BMW etc. Direct sunlight is closer to about 5200k for that pure white look.
6000k is blue
8000k purple and useless at night. It looks cute but you can't see as well.

I was going to say that the higher the temp, the worse your viewing distance was. I found 12000k to be rediculous but that is just me. I plan on doing around 5000k max because I've seen other BMWs with these conversions and they look great at night.

my Password JDM H4's are on the way to me. but i would personally say show me where i violate that great 4300K law, cause to my knowledge ocifer the yellow emits a 3300K and its consider'd a bonus in my life since i don't get all that great glare in my face when it rains.

Any HID kit that is not factory is illegal and if you are talking about just some cheap ass halogen that is made to look like HIDs those are illegal to. They were outlawed from being sold legally with a new law that went into affect last year. Any company found to sell HID conversion kits can be fined. I have a HID conversion kit on my Fusion (8000k) and I have yet to have any issues. I dont think you will get stopped but YES THEY ARE ILLEGAL to have, If they arent factory.... They are not loegal.
