i wanna start just for fun/experience.It depends on what kind of stocks you get into. A $50 investment will only go so far on a $20 per share stock, vs a $1/share stock. Then you got to figure in commissions and stuff, i'd say atleast $100 minimum, but more like $250.

1000 min in my opinion.
with 250, you will be forced to be greedy, and only take the good gains (hard to do). but it is possible.
I have set out 250 one morning, and 4 hours and a dozen trades later I turned it into 1200 or so. So its possible, just not easy. Ive also gone the other way ;) more times than i like to think about :D

Sharebuilder.com, no monthly fees and $4 per trade. So if you buy 1 share, its $4. If you buy 100 shares, its $4. I don't think a minimum investment.

i think we covered sharebuilder.com in another thread.
in my opinion, it sucks. and when u say you can buy any amount for 4 dollars, you should also tell us thats with the automatic investment. Market orders are damn 15.95, and says nothing about limit orders..lol.. what a joke. PLus u dont get Gainskeeper intill u go to thier highest account, which is still sucky.
sharebuilder is for people wanting throw thier money into some random blue chip, its def. not for active traders.
