I am wanting to get either a full exhaust or just a muffler for my 97 honda accord. I have been looking around however i have no idea what is good and what isn't good! lol .. does anyone have any recommendations on what would look and sound good on a 97 honda accord ?

Thanks for any help!

Apex ws 2, RS*R Exmag, greddy SP2, are the good bolt-on systems that I recommend. They're good looking, not loud, and stylist, and not ricey either. Apex ws 2 and greddy sp2, I can get them for a good price. For RS*R, you can get it at www.turboimport.com. Cheapest place I've found

If you want cheaper and better, get a 2.5" stainless steel piping + good muffler (Magnaflow, or better, Mugen twin loop). I'm doing the custom one. Having hard time deciding what to do. It's a lot more hassle than buying a bolt on kit, but worth every penny :)

Btw, I'm doing one for my 94 accord also. :)

edit: btw, you have a very pretty smile :)

Comptech is nice as well. I know they have kits for 6th and 7th gens, not sure as far as a 5th gen.

Also depening on the type of sound u like you might have to put on a resonator, 4cyl accords require that if you dont like the "ricey" sound it produces without them. This is a known thing with the 6th gen 4cyl vs v6.

But umm i didnt check ur ride much on pics, u get the v6 one or do u have a 4cyl?

You also might wanna look at maybe a dual setup if you are a 4cyl. A lot of 6th gen 4cyls do that.

Are you planning on putting a turbo intro the car? If so just get some axel back mufflers. If you run a turbo around 15psi+ u should get a 3"+ piping for the exhaust. This would save money if you do plan on boosting a lot.

The style of muffler is up to u, i personaly dont like tips larger than 2.5" inches.

well as far as turbo goes.. thats going to come a ways from now lol. i dont have the money to do that yet plus im gunna wanna do an engine swap and put ina H22... so right now im just looking to get something that just sounds good :)

heh id say go with a j32 or 35 and turbo it. with a built j30 and dr.evil trany you could hit 20lbs of boost. But dont think u can fit it.

I can get anything that NOPI carries. Look at www.nopionline.com. I don't sell anything for myself to make profits, just hooking people up if they need anything from NOPI.

Get a Cat-back exhaust, along w/ a high flow cat and a 4 - 1 header.... you'll feel a difference... I would say an RS*R exhaust or Apex World Sport (JMO), and a Greddy(trust)header... (didn't mean to seem like an ass earlier just tired and moody)

heh this is like one of the hardest decisions ive had to make. bc im not sure if im gunna go for the full exhaust or just a muffler. bc i dont wanna fork out hundreds of dollars.. i honestly just want something thats a lil loud yet sounds good at the same time w/o forking out $500+ dollars..

it will cost alot still just to do the muffler since it still has to me mounted and all... it cost me $350 when I did that on my Impreza at Mieneke... so might as well get a descent cat back or well axel back exhaust... and don't listen to soul...

haha okay. well some mufflers arent that bad of a price though.. bc a full exhaust are usually in the hundreds of dollars, which idk if i can fork out that much.. whereas some mufflers range from $100-200.. so idk ..

I know know the muffler's price isn't bad.... but then you have to get it installed....

If u get an axel back, comes with flanges and piping needed to be a straight bolt on it is easy. The only hard part is getting the old piping off, could be rusted or welded shut. But some places will charge about $120 for custom piping from what someone told me on a 4cyl accord he had done. 2.5" ss pipe.

You can also check out v6performance.net and check out the 4 Banger Section (http://www.v6performance.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=125) and get some more opinions. A local member is the mod of that section as well. You do have to register to post I believe but its a great site to belong to.
