No prob man. If they are gettin married, they are probably registered at Target or Sears or any place really that has a registry. You just go to the store , head to the machine, print out a gift list and go buy it. Theyll take the item off the list at the register.

"Gift Ideas
Unless you have a bottomless pocket, we suggest you go light on the engagement gifts. Remember - you still have the shower and the actual wedding to spring for. Not to mention travel expenses, new attire, etc.

Gifts that will help the couple plan and organize their wedding will be much appreciated. If you are technically inclined, setting the couple up with a wedding web site would be a smash hit - especially if they are not!

A subscription to a bridal magazine is a great gift idea for the bride. How about a book on relationships written by a reputable author?"

^makes sense though... don't need to get them anything expensive like appliances or whatever, this isnt their wedding, its an engagement party. Big gifts are for the wedding.

I got you son. All you need is a box of these, and send her on her merry way. Then she is going to be like ~~in a girlly voice "B" gave me the best wedding present~~...

Usually for an engagement party you should find out where they are registered, then pick a $30-50 dollar item off the list. For the wedding normally the gifts are something a little bigger ($50-100).
