So you're saying there was never made a s13 vert in japan?

Well if "No they didn't" isn't clear enough then I'll just go ahead and say, I have lived in JAPAN for 3 years and have never seen one. Having said that, your second picture is taking in Japan, I know this cause of the yellow kongi plate in the back on one of the vehicles and the red 2004 JCI expiration sticker on the Sylvia. However just because the 2nd picture is clearly in Japan and a covertable doesn't mean it was produced from the factory like that. As you can see behind that Sylvia is a prime example of the hidious taste that Japanese people have which would not strike me as odd that the morons there would have chopped that Sylvia up. Show me factory built proof and I'll eat my words :-)

I've seen an insane amount of vehicles here, from crap box no namers to wagon 4 door R34's and I have yet to personally see a convertable Sylvia that was not altered to be covertable. I have seen several convertable S15's but they were not pushed from the factory like that.

I suppose from your link I could eat my words but like I said.... I have yet to see one.

Well even the s13s verts in the US weren't built factory by nissan.

Nissan had another company make them and nissan sold them. So I wouldn't be suprised if it wasn't the same case in Japan...

More then likely they were produced for export to other countries cause if they were pushed to the open market here then they would be all over the place just like R32's are, it's like Civic's in the U.S.

Well even convert s13s in the US aren't that common.

Yes they did make verts in Japan, only came with a CA/Auto setup. Production dates were 5/88 thru 1990, only 603 units were made, Velvet blue S13 (430) Green two-tone Lime S13 (50) Warm two-tone white S13 (70) Cranberry red S13 (40) Dark, green (10) the other 3 were made to order for Nissan. ASC made the US spec verts over here, Autech in Japan made them there. The JDM vert design is much nicer than ours too. Being that there were only 603 made, they might not be as common as other Silvias over there.

id like to point out that your arguing over an automatic ca powered convertible s13, an rb20 is the only thing that could have made it any worse.

Which is exactly what they did with the Infiniti M30s back in the day. 100% of them were shipped to the US hardtop, then some were "modified" to be convertible at port. It was a "Port installed option."

Nissan never built the convertables that was done by Autech. and the US models were built buy a seprate company as well but they were contracted by nissan.
the JDM Verts are diffrent than the US ones as well the JDM ones were stared out in life as a vert the US ones started out a coupes and were made into verts and the top is diffrent on the JDM models
