"Well-behaved women rarely make history."

here is speed in kanji
it actually translate to "high velocity" or "hai-dur kin"
Back when i lived in Japan I had a jacket which said this on it, i cant find it, but I would have given it to you for free if i found it.

Would make a great car decal or tattoo, go for it dude.

you guys are silly. The symbol i posted is right.
Yeah what i posted is the closest japanese word to speed. Over there its on a good bit of cars, it looks great on a fender or quarter panel or something. But yeah it means "High Velocity" or "speed", Also can mean "one who lives on the fast lane"... Depends on usage.

Back when i was in Japan, I had a roomate who's girl had a tattoo on the back of her neck with that, and they said she was easy and speedy lol... so be careful where you put it.

hahah idiot posters like you are trying to mislead this kid. This is serious business when ink is involved so please dont play around. With my extensive background in Japanese culture its safe to say that i'm more than qualified. I once wrote a 5 page essay in Japanese for a report i had for work in Kyoto.

Original poster.

I was born in Nagasaki and my mom and dad each are fluent in Japanese, I can speak it it decently and am ok at reading it.

What randomguy posted is correct, that does mean speed. I actually know of the jacket he is speaking of because my dad has one somewhere at his house.

Also, I'm minoring in japanese here in school because I'm going to go back to Japan after I graduate and teach kids English.

I think it will make a great tattoo, don't let the others fool you, what RandomGuy said is correct.

His face is stuck like that because of the A bomb being dropped on his home town of hiroshima.

It burnt so much of his face off that the doctors could only stretch the rest of his skin so much so his face is stuck looking like that.

My dad told me a story about how his uncles were hugging right as the bomb went off...

THEY WERE FUSED TOGETHER!

And that is how the name Steven came around. I had uncle STEVE and uncle VEN. Well fused they became uncle STEVEN.
