Engine is totally stock with about 180K on it with no problems at all and AC blows snow. 100% reliable! Pulls hard for a stock engine. This is the main reason I bought this car after driving about 30 of them. This one felt noticeably faster than all the others. Not sure why, just does. Bought the car about 2 years ago with the intention of turbo charging the KA. I planed to do the motor last and never go around to it befor deciding to get another car. So I've fixed all the broken stuff, made it handle well, made it stop well, made it look nice, no you can make it fast. Everything else is done.
Brand new OEM replacement clutch w/ less than 200 miles on it.
I have a heavy duty Nissan clutch and modified flywheel that will hold 400 ft. lbs. of torque if you need it. Not included in the sale of this car though.
If you are interested in turbo charging the KA motor, I have about 80% of the kit to do it with. Email or call me with questions.
I have invested $6975 in all the parts I’ve put into and on the car. That does not include all the broken stuff I fixed, such as the A/C and a broken motor mount and a few other small things.
The way I’ve come up with my price on this car is, I took what I paid for the car, added 60% of the value of the used parts on the car, added nothing for any of the labor except the paint and body work, added nothing for parts or labor for fixing general stuff on it and came up with the $6500. Now I’m at $6000 and pretty firm on it.
Two things I know of wrong with the car now that are no big deal. One - The battery must have exploded prior to me purchasing the car and the battery acid has eaten a rust hole under the hood where the battery should be. I’ve moved the battery to the rear of the car. I had a body man quote me $150 in new Nissan parts and $150 in labor to fix it correctly. I have not done so yet. Second – The synchronizers going into 3rd gear are out. It grinds going into 3rd only if your speed shifting, it doesn’t under normal driving.
