I would like to build a dual 12" ported speaker box that looks like the one pictured below. Does anyone have any advice on the size of the box and where i can find some plans from? I plan to use MDF and some kind of textured paint to cover it, maybe carpet...

Heres the one that looks like what i want to build...

size depends on the sub your using, how much power you are using, do you want sealed or ported, and what is the biggest that will fit. I would reccomned sealed if you are a beginner/ Ported is alot harder to design.

as far as building one does, if you have ever done basic woodwork you are half way through. Designing it is MUCH more difficult.

usually you will recieve manufacture specs with the woofers and some include a box design cut sheet, if you dont have access to a good table saw please dont atempt it. you will make more work for yourself than necesary...

My favorite part is the description versus picture.
The description says "uncarpeted" but the pic has the box with carpet. I wonder how many people order that, and get pissed when it shows up without carpet?? hehehe

Most of the time, the speaker company will include some sort of spec sheet within the box the woofer came in. If not, you might want to talk to the dealer you bought the woofers from, or even the company website. Most will have some basic specs available.
