well, i got back from deployment as some have read, and bought a 93 del sol SI
It needs some work but this is the project that i have undertaken for the next few weeks

i have already ordered the following!
Rota Subzeros, black 15s
D2 suspension
Skunk2 camber arms
shim kit for the rear
energy suspension bushing kit

and have installed the Greddy SP2 cat back

i still have to order a new steering wheel and shub adapter, and 22mm rear sway bar as well as chassis stiffening bars and such.

and im in contact with an awesome membet of this board over the phone for alot of the OEm things i need
tailights, headlights, turn signals, a few harnesses that got cut, the interior door handles, speaker grille and a bunch of nuts and bolts

did my tune up, adn oil change, but i need to do a tranny flush, anyone know what kinda flush to use for a honda, the manual reccomends motor oil, but i was wondering if i could use synchromesh? anyways heres the pics of the exhaust install

and hte install pics

Would recomend usin oem Factory Gear oil/ Motor OilTo flush it just use anything cheap but for driving i'd suggest something a little better than factory. I used Redline MT90 in my Z32 but i'd suggest GM Syncromesh for the honda tranny's, trying to remember which one exactly though, there are two differant formulas....

Give Raceworks a call and ask which one, they probably have a bunch of the Del Sol parts you are looking for too: http://www.lockracewrks.com/ Toll-Free Phone (877) 432-4026 or (770) 886-1380

so i can use the synchromesh, i used it on my DSM and it kept from grinding in reverse after i got it, but i have alot of tranny noise in this car and its annoying.

Hey Air Farce, where you stationed? Since you're AF you were probably in Qatar chilling. But I am at Ft. Gordon and there's a dude here that got a bunch of Del Sol stuff. If you need something, tell me what, I'll ask if he got it, also let me know how much you'll pay. So I can go to him with the offer right away, to avoid the back and forth. LMK

use oem motor oil, the synthetic stuff seems to be too thin and you will have to add like a lucas stabilizer or something to it to thicken it up a little bit if not

just to clear it up
The car was completely striped to the bare metal, shaved and painted. Its normally a two week job
also at the same tie fiberglass was being done, as well as my suspension work and all that stufff
Step back and look at the retail prices of the stuff i got done
suspension is what i paindf about 2000 or so total
Custom stereo work (box amp rack centerconsole) he said for a regular person would be around 2500
Paint-the painter said with all the body work, type of paint nad all that stuff 4500

I got the most expensive stuff done that i could for the best price possible. I have about 5,000 wrapped up total into the car plus 3,000 for hte car.
Thats including all the tune up items, fluids, nuts and bolts i bought everything.

As far as motor mods, Im not drag racing, im autocrossing. THe stock d16z6 is plenty for now until i get accustomed to it. But i am picking up a second d16 tomorrow for 300 bucks with under 60,000 miles. Plans are to rebuild with OEM honda parts (Mix of pistons and rods) and a skunk 2 valvetrain. I dont want DOHC vtec becuase hte powerband isnt as smooth as hte SOHC. I only shooting for 150 HP if that. The purpose of the car is to handle, and thats all. Not to go fast in a straight line, thats retarded (no offense to anyone).

but this is what is done now
ok, as of right now
Primered, getting sprayed a New color as we speak, no flat black. and im not telling anyone until i get back in town and we all get together.
installed or nearing completion
shave handles
shaved emblem holes
shaved spray nozzles
Autoloc door popper kit
2 5 inch yellow foglights in grill
2 130db horns
Off brand racing seat
Pilot momo apache type steering wheel
LED underbody lights (they were free literally, dont start on it)
CLarion touch screen
MA Audio 6.5
Pioneer SPL tweeters
Rockford subs, fuberglass box behind front seats
directed 4 and 2 channel amps in an amp rack in trunk
Rota subzero in black
Riken tires (bfgoodrich)195-50-15
D2 coilovers 9k/9k
Progress rear sway bar
Skunk 2 camber arms
FIberglas center console
Greddy SP2 exhaust

i think thats it, all i have left to do is the energy suspension bushing kit and order LCAs.
I am also going to pick up a 57,000 mile d16z6 tomorrow to replace my 150,000 mile one for 300 bucks.
and i guarantee everyone will like my color scheme.
